What this Week #3

Happy Monday lovely readers! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and are raring to start the week. With Mondays being my Sundays, I notice I don’t really have the ‘Monday blues’. I just experience them on Tuesdays! Without further ado, here’s this week’s edition of What This Week.

I finished Friendaholic by Elizabeth Day and also managed to finish Foster by Claire Keegan last week. Friendaholic was a very reflective read for me and brought up many thoughts and feelings about friendships in general. I shared {or over-shared} some of my thoughts about the book and my own friendships on Instagram, but I do think I’m not done with reflecting on friendships, and there’s a lot more I can write about to explore it further. Foster was a short but powerful read by Claire Keegan about a young girl who is fostered by a couple in Ireland for the summer while her mother gives birth to yet another child. For a short book, it packed a punch and was quietly reflective. It was one of those books that manages to convey a lot with few words. It’s my first Keegan and won’t be my last.

We finished Season 2 of Ted Lasso and started Season 3 on Sunday. I’m intrigued to see where it will go and I’ve been avoiding any articles about it so as to avoid spoilers. I’m also on Season 3 of The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.

I haven’t been listening to much music this week and I’m not sure why. Some weeks just fly by, don’t they?

This week has been a mix of sitting with my anxiety as referrals at work have reduced a bit and current clients are getting better and therefore pushing sessions further apart. I reflected on lessons learnt in one year of being self-employed and opened a bottle of sparkling rosé to celebrate one year since I received my last paycheque. I had a lovely video chat with my friend who moved back to WA last year, chats with my parents and my sister this week. I also caught up with some friends on Thursday night in the city. I took a break from my training this week and focussed on my physiotherapy exercises to help my knee. On Sunday, we visited the local art and design markets and read in the sunshine for a little while. I also tried out a couple of new receipes this week – Pad kee mao and a Red Curry. Both receipes were by Recipe Tin. Other than that, it’s been a quiet week of life and work admin.

That’s my week.
