Happy Sunday, everyone! How are we only six weeks into 2022 but also feeling like it should be the end of the year? Or is that just me? I’ve had a week where my mind has felt all over the place and that’s usually an end-of-year feeling for me. There are multiple tabs open in my brain and despite my intention for this year, I’m struggling to focus on just one tab at a time. It’s not a good start if I say so myself. Anyway, it’s that time of the week though for me to look back with gratitude at the week from 30th January to 5th February 2022:
Sunday morning writing session at a café
Sunday afternoon walk around Malabar headland followed by swims at Maroubra beach with good company and chats
Catch up with my friend on Tuesday after work for a swim in the rain. It was stinking hot but rained in the end but we still swam
Being contacted during the week by someone I used to supervise asking if I could supervise them again as they had a new job
Two new referrals for my private work
Updating my private practice website and getting help with redirecting domain names
Being invited to speak at an online conference in a few weeks time as part of work
Being told an essay of mine will be published in the upcoming issue of kindling & sage
Catch up for drinks and dinner with Sammie
Starting Saturday morning private practice at a medical practice
Despite feeling a bit all over the place this week, I’ve also been quite content and grateful for a lot of things. The private practice stuff is certainly taking up a lot of brain space in terms of planning and setting up but I’m aware that this is for now and in the long run, I can focus on the client work alone. The week ahead is going to be a busy one with a lot of planning around my other role, which also means deadlines. I hope though, to have some time for reading, writing, and the beach and to be able to savour it all.
How has your week been?
