Weekly Gratitude 2021 45/52

Happy Sunday, lovely readers. It’s rainy and grey here in Sydney today and apparently, this is the forecast for the week ahead. Thankfully, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday. It’s the final day of my week off and it’s been an interesting week off as I’ve been sick for a lot of it (mainly gut-related issues, but also very bad headaches the first couple of days) and have concluded that the physical symptoms were exacerbated due to my anxiety. Turns out, my mum has similar gut stuff when she is stressed. So yeah, if there’s ever a good reason to manage my anxiety better, it’s this. Anyway, despite the blahness, there has been a lot to be grateful for from 31 October to 6 November 2021:

Enjoying a 7 km walk around the hood on Sunday as I was feeling a bit better in the morning

Coffee and brunch at my local cafe on Sunday before I got home and crashed

Monday morning walks with my friend SH

Getting a surprise referral for private practice on Tuesday

Wandering through a bookstore at Hornsby on Tuesday and also enjoying writing in their cafe

Wednesday workout with Jellybean, the gym dog and also having quick cuddles with Teddy in the afternoon

Week 45

Sneaking in some beach time on Wednesday afternoon

Visiting my friend KH on Thursday afternoon and seeing her almost one-year-old child

Friday morning coffee and breakfast with Sammie

Friday evening dinner and drinks at the local pub with a friend and her husband

Enjoying wtaching people’s joy at the Saturday produce markets

Brewery crawl on Saturday afternoon with a couple of bookstagrammers

It looks like a good week on the surface, and to be fair, it was. Except I had grand plans to write in cafes and sort out some of my work stuff – neither of which I did because I was either in anxiety spirals or lying on the couch recuperating. On the plus side, I think I know what’s important to me and how I need to refocus and move forward.

I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow because I don’t feel refreshed yet. But I guess, I can take it one day at a time and just keep moving forward.

How has your week been?

Do share!

I’m sorry your week wasn’t as refreshing as you hoped it’d be and you’re not feeling ready to get back to work but hopefully the break helped you get a bit of space from everything.

I was just admiring your brewery visit photos. I’m away at the moment and have been reminded a few times of the concept of ‘fun’. I realise I need to inject some into my life….

Sorry to hear about the anxiety causing digestive issue…but apart from that it sounds like you had a good week with some nice things happening. Hope going back to work goes well.

It’s always hard for me to go back to work after vacation too. ? Sorry to hear about your anxiety. Aside from that, it sounds like you had some really lovely moments during your vacation. Taking it one day at a time will hopefully help. ?

I do love how you can see the good in a week that had it’s negatives. Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well for much of it. Here’s hoping that next week is better for you.

I hope the week improved Sanch. My gut was very affected by my anxiety : life’s transitions, job concerns and more…for much of my life. It stopped me (as I think you know) from doing so much I loved.

I am thinking of a possible get together at “that bookshop” with you & a couple of others..will be in touch.

It’s always good to see your blog in the link up for Life This Week! Thank you so much for being a part of this community. Next week I am announcing my plans for 2022 on Denyse Whelan Blogs. See you then too, I hope. Denyse.
