Weekly Gratitude 2021 25/52

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s been rainy and cold here for most of today and I’ve been hibernating for the most part and trying to stay dry and warm. I dislike winter and dislike it even more when it rains. Even though this week was technically a short work week, it felt really long! Here are all the things I am grateful for from 13 June to 19 June 2021:

Waking up feeling much better on Sunday after 11 hours of sleep following the tiredness from my Covid vaccine on Friday

Sunday morning checking out Kirribilli markets with a friend and then enjoying brunch together

Sunday evening catching up with a couple of my friends for a long overdue dinner at Tramsheds

Public holiday on a Monday – lazed around and took it easy

Starting a new book club on Wednesday night and it going really well. It’s a lovely bunch of women and we discussed Song of the Crocodile by Nardi Simpson.

Week 25

Getting through the work week and also wrapping up a productive planning day on Friday

Having friends over on Friday night for dinner, drinks and laughs

Saturday morning spent wandering through the produce markets and buying some fresh bread and cheese

Saturday evening drinks with a friend followed by attending a live gig – Solkyri – at The Factory Theatre

Lots of cat cuddles during the week especially as it’s colder

While the work week felt really long, the weekends were lovely and so was the ability to have book club mid-week. We have had community Covid cases again and while I am fully vaccinated, it frustrates me that only 2 percent of our population has been fully vaccinated. It’s such a shit storm. Anyway, that’s been my week.

How has your week been?

Do share!

I’m yet to have my vaccine but am rectifying that later this week. I have to say my delay has only been in relation to ensuring I have a couple of clear days afterwards in case I’m not great. I’m enjoying the cool nights and milder days – and prefer this time of the year to summer. The heat and humidity does my head in. It is, however, harder to get up at 4.30 and go walking at this time of the year. Here’s to a great week.

Same here re vaccinations..looks like I might get my first one end of July. Looks like there has been a disruption to supplies. The NZ government has ordered enough from Pfizer but the roll out to the majority of the population is still to happen. All we need is for cases to escape from managed isolation…well, you are in Australia so understand!

Hi Sanch I have to agree with you re the vaccine rollout. It’s a mess. You’ve had some great highlights this week. I was in two book clubs pre covid when we had to go into recess. I really miss it

Sounds like you had a good week with lots of social events! I’m glad you’re vaccinated now – so sorry to hear about the slow vaccine rollout over there. I’m receiving my second shot next Monday and I’m so delighted!
Cat cuddles sounds nice too. My cat only cuddles with me when I’m in the garden! Inside the house she only cares about my husband. Weird and funny animals. ?

We are both fully vaxxed and no issues at all. Sigh. I have NO idea why everyone isn’t doing the vaccination thing. However, I do think we here in NSW (Sydney, I am looking at you more!) got lax with all thinks ‘check in’ and ‘covid tests’ and as I write you already know what is happening. We are back to restrictions and more…right as schools go on holidays and plans to travel will be cancelled. You sound well sorted with activities to balance work load…I hope you still get to do some now.

Thank you for linking up for #LifeThisWeek. Next week, we reach the midway point of the link up with Optional Prompt: 26/51 Optimism. Mr W is back with this one! It’s always great to see your post and comments, I appreciate that very much. Denyse.
