Weekly Gratitude 2021 20/52

Hello everyone! This gratitude post is coming to you a tad late because I got home from Adelaide around midday and have lost myself in life admin, cat cuddles and chilling in front of the telly. All after climbing up 11 storeys with my bag and wine bottles from South Australia because the lift in my apartment block has broken down, yet again. Anyway, I’m not going to mope and groan {I’ve already done that!} but going to refocus on all that I am grateful for from 9th May to 15th May 2021:

A relaxed Sunday prepping for going away for work while also watching The Boys and enjoying some short local walks

Recharged and back at work on Monday but needing a lot of time to remember all that I need to do! Sign of a good time off work

Deciding properly with my personal trainer to start training for a novice powerlifting competition

My original flight to Adelaide getting cancelled but then, the later one at 7:45 p.m. being the most comfortable flight I’ve ever been on because I had no one in the seats next to me and could stretch out

Being on a plane and getting to another state – my first time on a plane since September 2019 when I got back home from Greece

Checking into an awesome hotel for work purposes! There was also a gym and I could work out properly!

A productive three-day work meeting and planning session with all the state managers; it’s the first time I’m seeing the non-Sydney people in person and it was anxiety-provoking to begin with but overall, was a good experience

Week 20

A couple of fun social evenings with work – dinner the first night at an Afghani restaurant in Adelaide and axe-throwing on the second night

Taking myself for a couple of coffees in Adelaide CBD on the final work morning and finding one with a second-hand bookstore

Enjoying Glenelg and surrounds again despite the cold and wet weather

Friday morning cold beach walk in Glenelg

Going to Pirate Life brewery on Friday night on my own and feeling quite daunted and anxious because it was busier than I expected. I still managed to sit through a couple of drinks after the brewery tour but then left to a smaller pub in Glenelg

A lovely, lovely Saturday exploring farmer’s markets, three gorgeous wineries and a microbrewery with an online friend from Adelaide. It was even lovelier to have bookish and life chats, and meeting another online friend for the markets and one of the wineries

Getting a lot of sleep while away; honestly, I was so drained from the work stuff and being ‘on’ all the time, I would get back to my hotel room, shower, and fall straight back asleep

That’s been my week. A lot of thinking about work while also in a weird way, easing back into it given my two weeks’ holiday before that. This week will be a proper back-to-the-grind week with lots of work projects. I feel energised and despite loving time away, it’s kinda nice to be home again.

How has your week been?

Do share!

Sounds like a great trip to Adelaide. Yesterday we saw a Qantas flight come in to land in Wellington – it was quite exciting in some odd way! I’ll wait for my vaccine before I hop over The Ditch again though.

Oh, so exciting about the powerlifting comp – good luck and it sounds like a great goal to have and thing to train for.

I’ve never been to Adelaide and must go sometime. It looks quite beautiful in some pics I see and then there’s Kangaroo Island (?) which looks amazing.

I’ve not flown since pre-covid, though guess I didn’t do that much travel before that anyway.

    Have a good week. x

Your trip looked great and am pleased it has left you feeling recharged on all fronts – sometimes a change really is as good as a rest. And yay you for the powerlifting comp, I know you’ll smash it!
