Weekly Gratitude 2021 19/52

Happy Sunday lovely readers! It’s my last day of holidays before I’m back to work tomorrow. In true Murphy’s law style, I’m nursing a sinus headache as I write this post. Oh well, it is what it is. Anyway, it’s time for me to look back with gratitude at the week from 2nd May to 8th May 2021:

A lovely drive back home on Sunday from Capertee to end the ‘being away’ part of my holiday

Watching Kavita Bedford speak at the Sydney Writer’s Festival on Sunday. We also surprisingly got to chat with her mum while waiting in line and spoke to her after. She is so articulate and lovely!

Going out for a drink with an online friend I met for the above event and having a lovely evening

Beach time on Monday afternoon before the weather turned miserable for most of the week

Catching up with Sammie and Teddy not once, but twice this week! The cats also met Teddy and surprisingly, there were no hisses from them!

Lots of cat cuddles whenever I’ve been home. I think they missed me

Hearing that my parents continued to be stable and recover from the crappy virus

Booking myself in to get my vaccine – it’s been a long wait because even though I’m eligible being a healthcare professional, the Pfizer vaccine was recommended for our age group and I couldn’t find it until recently

Week 19

Getting my hair done on Thursday and feeling fab about it

Catch up with the lovely Ashley on Thursday night for drinks, dinner and a doco

Deadlifting a personal best on Friday – 80 kgs {3 reps} and also managing a personal best for paused squats – 65 kg {3 reps}

Spending Friday with Simone at Monet and Friends, followed by lunch and browsing bookstores

Finding a possible room near where I live to set up my independent private practice. Just waiting for the contract and then I can start a bit of advertising in the area and hire the room on a casual basis

Having a sister who is creative with designs and logos

Saturday night drinks and dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday

Getting some wonderful news that I can’t share just yet but hopefully will be able to in a few weeks

It’s been a good week with a balance of life admin, relaxing, reflecting, and socialising. I have enjoyed my time off and it’s a good reminder to take regular breaks in the year. I am back at work tomorrow but we head to Adelaide for a few days as part of work. So far, SA haven’t shut their borders or suggested quarantine for NSW unlike a couple of other states *insert eyeroll* and for that, I’m grateful. Hopefully, it means, I can still enjoy time in Adelaide the day after the work event.

How has your week been?

Do share!

Congratulations on achieving your PRs in your fitness!
Glad to hear your parents’ health are improving – even in saner times, it is worrying when our loved ones fall ill …
And you do look fab with your pretty pretty hair!

Oh I’m intrigued about the news. I wonder if it’s something writing-related. Exciting about doing some work in private practice and it gives you more options long term I guess.

I envied you going to SWF. I somehow completely missed that the Brisbane festival was on last weekend. It used to be September so alas I missed it again this year.

Look forward to hearing the news – very exciting!! I’m wondering if you are in another anthology? Or a book even?

Lots of good things to be thankful for! It’s delightful to read on every other blog that people are getting vaccinated. Hope your parents recover quickly and without complications.
The hair dressers opened today here too, very nice for all the people I know who need to get their hair done! Well done on the weightlifting – now you reminded me that I had planned to start weight lifting again this week but I actually forgot about it. 🙁
Hope this week will be a good one for you too!

It’s a good news week! So pleased that your parents are on the mend – yay! Your hair looks absolutely fabulous. It was so good seeing you and I absolutely love that photo of you and Ted! Hope Radelaide is really rad. See you on the other side 🙂

A lovely catch up….and pleased to know of greater balance of what makes life worthwhile for you. Hope Adelaide has behaved. I can barely keep up…but I will have some news I can share once it’s public and I will be going to Canberra.

Thanks so much for linking up for Life This Week, reading the post on Knowing by my husband Bernard and for your kind words. He tells me, despite earlier thoughts, that he would like another go at this blog thing sometime this year. Looking forward to seeing your post for Share Your Snaps (optional of course!) next Monday, 17 May 2021. Denyse
