Weekly Gratitude 2021 16/52

Happy Sunday everyone! Today’s post comes to you on Sunday afternoon after a 10 km hike this morning and then a nap on the couch. I had a long list of things to do this weekend but really haven’t done much due to a lack of motivation for any of it. But, I’m not going to beat myself up and just what I can get done before the end of the weekend. The work week has been super hectic and I’ve really felt it but with one more week to go before I have a couple of weeks off, there’s a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Without further ado, here are all the things I’m grateful for from 11th April to 17th April 2021:

Sunday morning walks around Balls Head reserve. It was freezing but the views and the walk were just gorgeous!

Sunday evening cocktails and dinner with friends at a place that was new to us

My new manager attempting to ensure I reduce the number of meetings I have and asking me how I like to be managed while also telling me her expectations

Submitting two short stories for two different writing competitions this week

Mid-week spontaneous catch-up with a friend over drinks

Week 16/52

Thursday evening walks and catch up with a friend. We live in the most gorgeous area!

Great workout week at the gym – lifting slightly heavier and doing more reps. I managed some personal bests – 12.5 kg {10 reps} for incline dumbbell presses, 20 kg {9 reps} barbell shoulder presses, and 60 kg paused squats. Really enjoying my training at the new gym!

Friday evening dinner at Sammie’s and getting some cuddles from Teddy. I always feel so spoilt with her yummy food and always enjoy myself!

Quiet Saturday night in with music, books and cats

Prepping for my holidays and allowing myself to get a little bit excited

It’s been a BIG work week like I said before, but I have managed to do a few things to help myself get through it. We’ve also had issues with our elevator this week and I’m really hoping it fixes itself as I’m meant to have housesitters when I’m away and they’re in their 60s and it’s just not acceptable to ask them to climb 11 flights of stairs! Sigh.

How has your week been?

Do share!

We all loved seeing you, Teddy especially – Auntie Sanch always gets his tail wagging! Pleased to hear you had a relaxing weekend after that hectic week (or those hectic weeks!) at work, sometimes you just need to relax and recharge your batteries. If only the lift could recharge it’s batteries, hope it starts behaving itself stat! The holiday countdown must be totally on! Enjoy your last week of work before the great escape!

So good you get to catch up with Sammie now that its become almost like the fam dinner!

Balls Head..still used for oil tanker storage by the harbour…thats what I recall.
