Gratitude

Weekly Gratitude 2021 14/52

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s a warm one today and the first day that daylight savings has ended. That makes me sad because I have loved the after-work beach hangs which now won’t be possible. The mornings are brighter though and might help me to wake up at my usual time as opposed to the last two weeks when I’ve struggled a bit to do that. Anyway, without further ado, on my long weekend, here’s all the things I’m grateful for from 28th March to 3rd April 2021:

Sunday beach hangs with a couple of my friends; the water was unfortunately not too clean so we didn’t go in too deep but it was nice to check out a new beach and enjoy the morning

Monday evening at the beach to wind down my overwhelmed mind and breathe in the ocean air

Good training sessions which included Jellybean cuddles

Running 5 kms mid-week after a really, really long time. I’m not a runner but it felt like an achievement doing that

Good therapy session on Thursday

Week 14

Being kind to myself and skipping book club because I was struggling with a cold all day and was also emotionally drained

Watching sunsets at the beach

Three hours on Good Friday at the beach

Great catch up with a friend on Friday night over beers and dinner

Lovely Saturday attending my friend’s wedding by the harbour in the most glorious Sydney weather

It’s been another overwhelming week with work but I’ve prioritised exercise, eating better and going to the beach as part of looking after myself because reading and writing have been hard for me lately. I was very, very glad to welcome the long weekend and I’m glad we still have the day off tomorrow before being smashed with work again.

How has your week been?

Do share!

Your beach hangs really sound lovely! I get refreshed just reading about them!
I can’t wait to get warmer weather. Today is going to be a good one though, before turning to colder again for a while. But we’re going towards summer so all is good. Nature is coming alive (or, more of it is coming alive, I’m blessed to live in a country that is mostly green also in winter, and the gorse blooms from January) which I’m very thankful for.

And here we’re so happy we just changed our clocks so we have MORE light in the evening now. You have so many wonderful things to be grateful for this week and, as always, I am so jealous of your beautiful beach photos.

So good to see that you have such great self awareness that you know when you need to ease back on demands of yourself. It’s so important to have this awareness and flexibility. I envy your access to a beach for beach walks and hangs etc. I hope work settles down for you soon and that the Easter break has given you a lovely restful break from all things work! Have a great week coming up Sanch! xo

With the utmost wisdom and skill, I took last week off work and then spent part of it in lockdown. Frankly I could happily take time off for another few months, if someone was paying me. 10 days seems like it should be enough to refresh but I don’t feel very different.

We have had the most glorious Easter weekend weather here too Sanch and having my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and 10 week old grandson visit was just perfect! Hope you feel refreshed after the long weekend and continue to prioritise your needs.

Pleased you got to rest and recharge over the long weekend – I too am going to miss daylight savings. We decorated so our weekend wasn’t quite as restorative as yours! Your friends had perfect weather for the wedding – you looked gorgeous! Hope you can ease yourself back into work this week and that you get plenty of Sanch Time.

I’m very envious that you get to sit at the beach so often. I could sit there for hours looking at the sea. We had a lovely quiet Easter here #lifethisweek

Sanch, I think if you run, you are a runner. Good for you for doing the 5ks. I don’t know what Jellybean cuddles are, but now I must look them up! 🙂 Glad to read you had so much beach time. That sounds awesome.

Prioritising ourselves when we are giving others the messages to do so…is an essential. Glad you took it upon yourselves to create a better way (or ways) to do so.

Always delighted to see your posts in Life This Week Link up. Thanks for joining in. Looking forward to next week, when we may, should we choose, Share Our Snaps (photos!). Denyse.
