Weekly Gratitude 2021 11/52

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s a rainy and grey one here in Sydney after a beautifully warm and sunny Saturday. But it’s perfect for being indoors, listening to music, reading and writing. It has been an emotionally draining and fucked up week, so I’m really glad for this downtime to take stock and recharge. It also gives me time to read blog posts from last week which I didn’t get a chance to do during the week. Anyway, without further ado, here are all the things I’m grateful for from 7th March to 13th March 2021:

A slightly overcast Sunday morning at the beach before the crowds

Sunday afternoon at Opera bar with friends followed by the All About Women event with Caitlin Moran at the Opera House – I’ve missed events like these so much!

Starting my new gym program this week and enjoying it

Supportive work colleagues and a manager during what has been a shitty, shitty work week

Supportive, empathic and validating friends

Easy access to the beach to help me take time out and process during the evenings

Meeting the gym doggo – Jellybean – and getting lots of licks and cuddles

Week 11/52

Mid-week catch up with Ashley discussing all things books and writing over drinks and dinner

Writing and journalling to help process my grief

Cat cuddles

Reading a gorgeous book – Here is the Beehive – and getting so emotional and having a heavy heart

Spending three hours at the beach on a sunny Saturday morning

Enjoying a book and a beer in a bar by myself while I waited for friends on Saturday evening

Saturday evening with some friends in the city

If there is one thing this week has taught me is that life has no guarantees. Be kind, add meaning, live with a sense of purpose, and look out for one another. Go gently.

How has your week been?

Do share!

A gym dog sounds amazing. I want one. I don’t know if I can ever get another dog but I’m happy to steal cuddles from other peoples dogs!

I’m sorry to hear it has been a shitty week. If it helps in any small way, I am impressed with how you manage to maintain your interests/socialising outside of work.

Sorry to hear that you had a difficult week, Sanch. But you did manage to get it filled with other activities. Glad to know that journaling is helping you. My week wasn’t exactly good, but I don’t want to complain.
Be kind and gentle, I need to remember that for myself. πŸ™‚

Sorry you had such a rough week but am loving how many ways you had to combat that. Those beach photos look amazing.

Sorry you had such a tough week Sanch. I’m sure the gym doggy made you smile. We had a work dog for year. She sat at front door and greeted customers. They loved her. I hope this week is a better one for you #lifethisweek

Really sorry you had such a tough week, hope the new one will be better! I think if there was a dog at my gym, I’d be much more inclined to go! Teddy Roosevelt says he can’t wait to give you licks and cuddles!

Wishing you a better week ahead Sanch. I totally agree with you there’s no guarantees in life and so we need to be kind to everyone, including ourselves. #lifethisweek

Gosh Sanch, that sounds awful for you but am glad you have supportive people around you. I hope, with some time and re-grouping the world is a little kinder this week.

I just got Rick Morton’s My Year of Living Vulnerably and having “watched” him go through the awful times via twitter and more, I am so glad he is here, and is telling his story. Love him and his work so much.

Thanks so much for linking up for Life This Week #231. Glad to have you add your post as part of the community here. Next week. the optional prompt is Good. Hope to see you there. Denyse.
