Weekly Gratitude 2021 8/52

Happy Sunday, lovely readers! It’s a slightly overcast Sunday morning here in Sydney but it’s been a strange week because whenever the Bureau of Meteorology has forecast rain, it’s actually ended up being nice and sunny. Rain is forecast for today as well but I might take a risk and head to the beach at some point. It’s been a long week and it’s time to reflect on all that I’m grateful for from 14th February to 21st February 2021:

Busy, busy days at work but feeling more productive than the week before

Cooking fish curry at home and enjoying it

Homemade falafel bowls for lunch

Posting three posts on the blog this week: a book review, an epiphany about the need to fill my cup, and an old hiking mis-adventure

Catching up with my friend JR for dinner on Tuesday night – good food, good conversations, great company

Booking tickets for a gig in April – I am anxious it’ll get cancelled but I had to take the plunge and start doing that again regardless of what happens {I’m meant to have three gigs in March but the band is from WA so I’m still bracing myself for a cancellation!}

Catching up with an online friend IRL – Simone is a reader and also writes and we’d met once before and hit it off, and found out we don’t live too far from one another, so it was lovely to see her again

Trying out a new gym – I attended a free class on Saturday morning to give it a shot and I think I might call them tomorrow and become a member

Finishing the anthology in which my short story was published and feeling even more grateful for my publication because the standard of some of the stories was very, very high!

Completing a draft for another short story – now to edit and also get feedback from my writing group

I feel like this week has been a blur of work and nothingness in some ways but also, epiphanies in other ways. I am glad I’m actually starting to consider things like holidays or writing retreats and live gigs because I know I need those to sustain me!

How has your week been?

Do share!
