Weekly Gratitude 2021 6/52

Happy Sunday everyone! Today’s gratitude post is coming to you a bit later in the day because I got caught up reading an amazing book and just had to finish it before I could write anything. It’s been a relaxing day with a bit of life admin peppered in there. Without further ado, here are all the things I’m grateful for from 31 January to 6 February 2021:

A nice walk in a new part of the neighbourhood on Sunday that I hadn’t discovered before

The first writing group meetup for the year on Monday night and getting some constructive feedback from my two writing group buddies on my story

Catching up with the lovely Ashley Kalagian Blunt and talking all things writing, books, creativity and exchanging migration stories while drinking cocktails and eating yummy food

Feeling creatively fulfilled after two wonderful evenings of speaking to writerly friends

The arrival of the paperback copy of the anthology in which my short story has been published. It’s such a surreal feeling to see your name in print!

Heading into the city for the first time since mid-December

Going to a restorative yoga class on Thursday night which was much needed after all my strength training

Dinner with a friend on Saturday at Spice Alley before the cricket

Watching the Big Bash League finals between the Sixers and Scorchers on Saturday night at the SCG – such a fun atmosphere!

Relatively good health especially given I have had to climb up 11 floors each day since Saturday due to the elevator in the apartment block being out of order

It’s still been an exhausting week and I have been tired but I have also loved surrounding myself with creative people and writing a bit more. People who write and read fill my soul!

How has your week been?

Do share!

So much gratitude, it is overflowing. Thank you for sharing. It is so important to remember to be grateful. Gratitude is my word for 2021. I am thankful to have both my children under my roof, good health, a roof over our head, and money that keeps coming every month. Thank you for your lovely post!

Ugh, stairs and hills kill me. Of course I’m also unfit but even when I was fitter I hated them.

And how lovely to meet with other writer/s. I had a What’s App chat to two of the others from my writing retreat in Italy yesterday and it was great. I love that connection you find with like-minded people. It can be so creatively nourishing.

ugh re the stairs! Love your reason for being a tad later with your post – the best possible reason. I’m joining a writing group for the first time ever this week. Not sure what to think or how it works, but why not? I’m also in a book club (virtual) now – something else I’ve never done. We’re reading the classics.

I’m still in awe of climbing 11 flights of stairs 🙂 I can do one flight 🙂

Oh I so hope the lift is back in action today.

There were 3 people in my IG feed at the cricket! Fun times. Been ages since I have been to a cricket match but way back in 2003 I actually took myself to an Australia A vs Australia B match and it was where Michael Clark made his debut at that level.

Glad connecting with writerly people is great for you and big congrats on the publication!

Thank you for linking up your blog post today. Next week’s optional prompt is 7/51 Self Care Stories #1. 15 Feb. In this one, I am using the new category in my blog called Ageing Stories because it was a good fit. Look forward to seeing you there too. Denyse.
