Weekly Gratitude 2021 4/52

Happy Sunday, everyone! This is a late post today after being out for most of the day and then getting through life admin after. It’s been a lovely long weekend so far hiking and swimming in different areas. Since the Covid spike, I’d limited my activities to a 2 km radius and the beach (about 5 km away) but it’s nice to venture further afield gradually. Anyway, this week felt like the longest week ever but it’s time to look back at all that I’m grateful for from 17th January to 23rd January 2020:

Sunday morning relaxing at the beach with a coffee and taking stock of life lessons

Finishing a couple of short story drafts; it’s still draft zero but at least something to work with

Having time to spend reading up research for a project I’m working on

Seeing Teddy and his mum for a quick coffee catch up mid-week

Early nights and early mornings

Coffees from my favourite cafe after training at the gym

Catching up with a couple of friends separately on Friday night, one of whom I hadn’t seen in a while

The change in presidency in the U.S. finally

A lovely hike from Taronga zoo to Balmoral on Saturday with a friend followed by lunch and beers at the beach and a swim

The cool breeze in my balcony even on hot days

It’s been a big week with little things sprinkled to make it lovely and worthwhile. I have actually been quite exhausted but hoping this long weekend will help me recharge.

How has your week been?

Do share!

I feel like I keep saying ups and downs each week but… it’s true. I spent a lot more time outside this weekend so that kind of maybe helps make up for the fact I forgot to book Monday off and make it a 4 day weekend!

That’s good you’ve been spending more time outside but shame about no long weekend! Ups and downs makes sense. I think that’s what most weeks are 🙂

Some lovely positives in your week Sanch. Change of IS President! How fantastic was that. I was up at 3am to watch it. Can I put imagine how relieved they must be feeling over there. #lifethisweek

I must admit I didn’t watch the inauguration but it was just nice to know it was happening!

Yay for the changes in the US. I hope they continue. I’m always impressed at how much you pack into your week. I’m home all day and have NOTHING to show for it at the end of each week.

Even each day, my mother when we speak asks what I did. “Oh, bit of stuff at my desk,” I say. Which means pfaffing about with my uni stuff and opening and closing blog posts I should be writing. And… spending too much time on Twitter and Facebook.

I particularly love that you get out and about on weekends!

Haha…I don’t know if I really do pack in all that much. Most days it’s writing, gym, coffee, work and that’s it. Especially since Covid – I feel like I’ve forgotten how to do things after work! In summers, there is the beach after work of course but yeah. Oh and social media can be a rabbit hole of wasted time. I try and not go on it but go through phases. Weekends I’m making more of an effort to get out, even if it’s by myself to the beach! See, this is why I love summer!

A great wrap up of the week Sanch with good times and warm weather by the sounds of things! I’ve had a good week with a new grandson born on Friday and taking care of my 2 year old granddaughter while mummy and daddy were in hospital. Fun times but quite tiring! #lifethisweek

Sounded pretty darned good to me. But how hot was it till the cool change. Glad you are taking some time out too. We who like people, also need to be alone for a bit to renew!

I too am grateful for a new President in the U.S. I remembered when we found out the outcome of the election, I received text messages from my friends who lived abroad congratulating me on my new President. It was kind of funny and somewhat humbling because chances are I [probably don’t know the names of the leaders in my friends’ home countries.
