Weekly Gratitude 2021 3/52

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s been a lovely birthday weekend for me and I’m sad the weekend is almost done. This is after I also had Friday off work. It’s also a good sign that I am overdue for some proper time off and might look into that for March or so. It’s been a busy week at work but also a fulfilling week overall. Here’s all that I am grateful for from 10th January to 16th January 2020:

Spending almost three hours on Sunday morning at the beach – swimming, reading, soaking up the sun and repeating

Finally seeing someone I hadn’t seen for three weeks as they were in lockdown on the beaches

Being able to get to the beach three evenings in a row for a quick swim after work

A surprise present from my sister arriving earlier in the week

Rolling out one of my first projects at work this week and not having as much resistance as I expected. Yet.

Strength-training every day of the week

Finishing a draft of a short story

Early birthday celebrations on Thursday night with Sammie

A day off on Friday and getting my hair cut and coloured for the first time in six months

Birthday celebrations with my friends on Saturday – a joint birthday picnic with few other friends in the afternoon and then later, dinner with one other in the evening

All the love from family overseas and friends here and overseas on my birthday

Being alive and well another year

It’s been a lovely week and I am so grateful to be alive but also, to have some lovely people in my life.

How was your week?

Do share!

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY Sanch! I love all the things you are grateful for. Love seeing that you had a birthday celebration with Sammie! Hope this week is a good one for you and that you get that holiday soon. I’ve got 6 nights at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast coming up in February and I cannot wait. I am craving the beach very much! xo

Happy belated birthday. I’m not sure I knew it was your birthday… (I usually rely on Facebook to tell me these things!)

I love that you love the beach and ocean so much. I talked about that today on my blog, but perhaps there are shark nets there? Mind you, I can’t stand the sun for too long as I just get too hot and I’m a complete failure when it comes to putting cream on. I thought I did well but then ended up with very burned knees after the weekend trip out on the boat.

And I’m glad the rollout of the work project wasn’t met with resistance.

Happy Birthday! I love your practice of sharing the things you are grateful for each week. It inspires me to take a look at my own life to think about the many things I have to be grateful for. It’s a good practice for looking at the positive, rather than grumbling about the negative. And good for you for strength training every day! Way to go!!!

I need to remind myself to plan out leave this year – I was feeling the burnout hard in the last few weeks of 2020. Good reminder to take some long weekends and have breaks.

Your birthday must be very close to (if not the same as my son’s and grandson’s)…..15 Jan.

I remember how it felt to have changes and ideas to put forward to a group (in my case, a school staff) and wondering (not sleeping) how things would go. Glad it went OK.

Lots of good news here and lots to be recording as grateful!!

Thank you for sharing your post in Life This Week, the Monday link up on my blog. Each Monday, there is an optional prompt but you can link up a post (just one) old or new, on or off prompt. Next week’s is 4/51 Cannot. 25 Jan.Hope to see you back here then. Denyse.
