Gratitude

Weekly Gratitude 2021 2/52

Happy Sunday everyone! This has felt like the longest week ever! I was back at work on Monday but to be honest, have felt very unmotivated and realised I probably needed another week off. I somehow dragged myself through the workweek and have so far, enjoyed my weekend. Anyway, it’s that time though when I look back with gratitude on the week from 3rd January to 9th January 2021:

The sun finally coming out for a little while on Sunday afternoon and allowing me to go for a walk in the neighbourhood

Enjoying an afternoon beer and a book at a local bar on Sunday – the last day before work

Sunday evening walks and chats with my friend LS at the beach

Finishing my first book for 2021 and really enjoying it

The glorious views from my new place – it’s made the move so worth it!

A walk with my friend SS in the park on Tuesday after work

A quick swim in the beach on Tuesday evening before it began raining again

Receiving a card and present in the mail from my friend VP in Darwin – I’ll be opening the present on my actual birthday but it was a lovely surprise

Coffee catch up in the rain with Sammie and Teddy

Dinner on Thursday night at my friend JR’s place

Finding out a short story I submitted late last year for the Better Read than Dead writing anthology competition has been one of 30 stories shortlisted for publication later this month

A productive Saturday putting up new outdoor furniture in my balcony and tidying up the rest of my place while also enjoying reading in the sunshine

Trying out a new writing routine – I’ve managed 4 days so far since Wednesday

Cats feeling settled in the new place and having favourite spots

That’s been my week. It’s felt super long while at work and I kinda wish I had a week off next week but I do have Friday off. I might need to plan for some time off in Feb or March regardless if I go anywhere.

How has your week been?

Do share!

    Congrats on the shortlist!
I really hope we get some sun soon (at which point I will wish it was cooler) but this summer is so lamentably wet.

    Wishing you a great week

I don’t know what it is about coming back to work after time off, but that first week always drags for me too. Even though I only had two days off for Christmas, and another two days for New Year, last week felt like an eternity! I’m glad that you found some bright spots though. Hopefully this week feels shorter for us both!

Congratulations on making the short list. That’s very exciting. Your new place seems to be lovely. Great photos of the beach. Living far from the beach, love to see photos #lifethisweek

Oh, congrats on the shortlisting – very impressive!

I saw a ‘view’ pic from your new place the other day and it looks lovely and I’m glad the cats are settling in. I hope the new job goes well.

Hit and miss week last week. This week seems to be much of the same. Glad I can soon go for a maskless walk as my body is too broken to exert itself with a mask on, so I just skipped walking while in mini lockdown even though you could technically exercise.

I’ve read a couple of great books already for the new year and have been using them to enjoy the warmth inside while it’s freezing cold outside.

So pleased you’ve settled into your new place and enjoying it. Going back to work after holidays is so hard but I’m lucky I don’t have to do that anymore – I do feel for you! Having your story shortlisted is brilliant and must make you proud of your achievement. Keep going with the new writing regime and enjoy the week ahead. #lifethisweek

Some wins there Sanch! I also think with the weather and moving house it was a huge load that does not resemble a holiday at all. Being back at work whilst the sun is shining and the beach is calling is a tough one for you. Take care and yes, plan for hols soon…even if it is at home.

Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week the optional prompt is Back To. 3/51 #LifeThisWeek 18 Jan. I hope to see you there. Denyse.
