Weekly Gratitude 2020 50/52

2020 gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s been a slightly chillier weekend here in Sydney; you could easily forget it’s summer and that we had a scorcher last Sunday! Anyway, it’s that time of the week to reflect on all that I have to be grateful for from 6th December to 12th December 2020:

The ability to go for swims in hot weather! I don’t know how I’d cope with the heat if I didn’t live close to the water

Good friends who are there to listen to my anxieties

A really good therapy session with my psychologist that may have left me very, very emotionally drained but was worth it

Chats with PV while buddy reading one of the most fucked-up books I’ve read in a while

Still pushing myself to go to the gym even when I don’t feel like it. I haven’t pushed myself too hard this week but I show up and that’s important for now {I sense a reset with my training goals in the new year}

Taking a sick day mid-week after really bad sinus headaches earlier in the week. Really glad I listened to my body and rested

Possibly being approved for a new rental {which might also mean moving towards the end of the year if I can find movers, or else early in the new year – still waiting on some confirmation though apart from the real estate verbally telling me my application was approved}

Sharing my favourite fictional reads for 2020

Final book club for the year on Thursday – lots of laughs and a fun book exchange

Winning the pets on Zoom award at work – Pebbles and Buttons worked really hard for that!

Christmas party with my {old} team at Manly on Friday – it was such a lovely day catching the ferry together, then lunching from midday till about 4, and then some of us carrying on for a couple more hours at another pub

Slow-ish Saturday with the gym, brunching at my favourite cafe and reading while also trying to sort out life admin

It’s been a strange week. I’m still sitting with some anxiety about a bunch of things but also keen to finish off work soon {read: another 10 days to go}. Ideally I’d like to move before the new year but I’m also mindful there might not be that option due to possible lack of movers. That said, I doubt it’ll be anything as stressful as the move to and from the coast!

How has your week been?

Do share!

    Yay re the new rental – and for showing up at the gym. Sometimes that’s what you have to keep doing in order to well, keep doing it. I’m resetting in January too as I’m feeling a tad blah and need to find something to be excited about. Here’s to a great week.

    Sounds like you had a fun week Sanch. Good luck with the move. No need to stress you’re not working hard enough at gym. At least you’re showing up and that’s not easy given the year it’s been. I’ll be resetting in new year too

    Very excited about the new move – yay – and your Christmas party looked so fun! Your looked postively radiant. And congrats on the Cats on Zoom award – I could not think of two more deserving recipients than Pebbles and Buttons! Hope to catch up soon x

    Wow, a new place. I hope it will be all you want it to be. Congratulations. And for your vulnerability here in this post. Everyone has anxiety and crap days and sharing the news helps us all feel more connected and less alone I reckon!
