Weekly Gratitude 2020 37/52

2020 gratitude

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s a slightly overcast Sunday evening but I’ve had a relatively relaxed one where I went to the beach early, then went for a walk with a friend and finally, napped on the couch in the afternoon. It’s been a decent weekend. My week started off with a heaviness and emptiness of sorts but it has finished off on a full note. Anyway, it’s that time though for me to look back with gratitude at the week from 6th September to 12th September 2020:

Lovely friends checking in on me knowing my mental health hasn’t been great

Taking time to read in the sunshine

Getting a lovely welcome back at work from my team

Crazy, cuddly funny cats

Having the privilege to listen to young people’s stories at their rawest moments

Good therapy session showing me that I’m making progress

A timely realisation that I work for a wonderful organisation with amazing leaders and team members and where there is a genuine acknowledgement and validation that it’s okay to not be okay

Long phone conversations with a couple of friends

Seeing one of my team in person for supervision on Friday

Feeling a sense of pride at how my team is developing – they are amazing and wonderful people and I couldn’t be more proud of them

Decent gym workouts every day this week

Going over to a friend’s place to celebrate their birthday on Saturday night and enjoying the company of a few people and a lot of dogs

Being vulnerable about my mental health struggles in the past couple of months and receiving nothing but compassion for the same

FaceTiming my sister

Like I said earlier, it was a week that started off with a heavy heart and a sense of detachment but my heart feels quite full at the end of it. I am so, so grateful for all the people in my life. I know it’s still trying to take it one day at a time in terms of my mental health but I’m hopeful I’ll get there eventually.

How was your week?

Do share!

You will get there – not least because you’re surrounded by good people and good dogs 🙂 I believe in you and am looking forward to catching up face to face this week.
