Weekly Gratitude 2020 36/52

2020 gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! I’ve had this week off work and have been feeling particularly relaxed in the last few days. I almost wish I had another week to fully soak it all in. Still, it’s not too long to Christmas and a break at that time so it’s not all bad. Hopefully this break will keep me going for the next three months. Anyway, it’s that time of the week to look back with gratitude at the week from 30th August to 5th September 2020:

Enjoying time at the beach in Gerringong on Sunday – it was slightly cold due to the wind and my friend and I didn’t go in the water but it was lovely to lie in the sun

Visiting Berry in the morning – I love wandering through the stores there

Spending the afternoon writing in a cafe

Watching the sunset over Gerringong with a beer ?

Coffee at a really lovely cafe on Sunday and Monday – Clay Coffee Collective. It’s got a lovely vibe and amazing coffee!

Visiting a couple of bookstores in Kiama on my way back home on Tuesday. I didn’t leave empty-handed and I enjoyed long chats with the staff at both stores

Finding out I was in the top 5 people who went to my gym last month – apparently I went 23 times

Reading in cafes, at the beach and at the pub

Best beach day on Thursday – it got up to 29 degrees here and I spent a couple of hours at the beach enjoying the sun and quick dips in the freezing cold water! So worth it!

Drinks and dinner with Sammie on Thursday

Decluttering and tidying up – it feels therapeutic to do that!

Lots of cat cuddles since getting home

Doing the opposite of what the black dog tells me and taking myself out to the city on Saturday afternoon. It was lovely to ride the ferry for the first time since I’ve moved. Really grateful to spend time in Dymocks and wandering through the city

Long phone conversations with a friend who was helpful in empathising but also distracting me from spiralling

It’s been good to have time off and relax despite the darkness that threatens to override my life. I am hoping I’ll be refreshed enough tomorrow and manage work well without burning out and being completely and utterly exhausted.

How was your week?

Do share!

I can’t remember the last time I had a solo date in a cafe with my journal to write. Oh how I love it. Lots to love this week – and to be grateful for… but please no further mentions of Christmas! Have a great week.

Hang in there Sanch. Fight that spiral. I know you will be okay.

It was great to see you – hope you are feeling rested and refreshed after your week off. Eeep, I can’t believe Christmas is only 3 months away although to be honest, I for one will be very pleased to say goodbye to 2020! Side note, how good is a ferry ride! I haven’t been on one for ages, I’m dying to take Teddy and pop his ferry cherry!

Between you and Lydia, I am so envious of browsing in Dymocks in George St. I bought a few things there over the years including Moleskin journals but it’s such a welcoming space with sooooo many books!

Loved following your weekend on the South Coast.

Oh dear, I am sorry you have had (or soon to have) more surgery. I really can empathise. My wound debridement and now VAC machine wearing to heal the wound has been going for over 3 weeks. I have had news today that I can drive again so I will get out into nature as it’s an important part of my mental health wellness.

Sending you all good vibes for a better and final recovery! Fingers crossed!

Thank you for linking up for life this week. Next week’s optional prompt is 37/51 Remembering Sydney 2000. 14.9.2020 Hope you link up Denyse.
