Weekly Gratitude 2020 28/52

2020 gratitude

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s been a beautiful Sunday morning and a cold and wet afternoon here. I feel like it’s been a decent balance of allowing me to enjoy some sunshine and then lie on the couch with the cat and a book. The week has been exhausting and I’m still on an emotional roller coaster of sorts but have still managed to find some things to be grateful for from 5th July to 11th July 2020:

Writing in a cafe on Sunday – I have missed that!

Submitting my first ever flash fiction for Australian Writers’ Centre Furious Fiction competition

Participating in a style challenge by Em and Kimba on Instagram and actually enjoying it by wearing bright colours

Reading in the sunshine during my lunch break on Monday

Celebrating Sammie’s birthday on Tuesday night at The Stoned Crow

Not falling sick after having the inkling of a sore throat mid-week

Really good workouts at the gym this week

Getting my hair done on Friday – loving the copper highlights

Nice night out on Friday night

Saturday in the Shire after private practice with a couple of my friends – it was nice to be in Cronulla and enjoy some of the new cafes and the old haunts along the esplanade

Being able to capture a beautiful sunset on Saturday night

My Microprose being chosen as a crowd favourite at YeahWrite this week

I’ve mostly worked and had nights in but I’m also glad I have pushed myself to get out and do things. The gym has definitely kept me sane. I feel for Melbourne but must also admit I’m scared about the possibility of another lockdown – I don’t think I’ll cope if gyms shut again. Anyway, apart from trying not to panic, it’s been a week with lots to be grateful for.

How was your week?

Do share!

Yay for good health and also for being able to relax in a cafe enjoying your drink and doing something you enjoy. Cafes have been stressful places recently with the pressure to distance etc.

Good for you – Over, Under and between? I did that too. I love the Flash Fiction. I also to the NYC Flash Fiction that you pay to enter but you get really detailed feedback on your 1000 word story so it’s worth the entrance fee for that. Good luck with the comp…#Lifethisweek

The sunset is just beautiful what a great capture. I love your hair, so beautiful and shiny. I wish I wasn’t allergic to cats. I love them so. Thanks for capturing and sharing your joys. They really have made me smile.

    Love. 🙂 Xx

I really hope we don’t have to go back into lockdown. I’m only about 20 minutes away from the Crossroads Hotel, so we’re all being extra careful again. That sunset picture is stunning and your hair looks lovely!

Cluster-something ending in k after a 1-2 whammy of issues last week. This week I’m focused on getting my rehab efforts back on track because last week derailed me.

Your hair looks lovely Sanch! What a good mix for you this past week. I hope we can get away without another lockdown but I’m not too sure to be honest! #lifethisweek

Good Luck with your flash fiction entry. I love the sunset photo. I really need to take more photos. A second wave of covid-19 in NSW scares me as I’m just getting over being locked away from everyone and enjoying some, safely distanced, time with a few friends.

I loved seeing the pictures of you in the style challenge and your updated hair looks great!!! I love also that you’re catching up with Sam. I sometimes miss that bloggy connection but get it online so really can’t complain about that.

Your hair looks amazing as do you..in those wonderful colours. Linking up with Em and Kimba is great fun too. I am glad you are getting out and about…time for stopping still is needed at times but not when you have spent a lot of time doing that before we got some more freedom. Not really relishing how ‘open’ Sydney still is…and sadly, it would take away some of your freedoms if things get worse..booo to that!

Thank you so much for linking up for Life This Week. Next week, the optional prompt is “whatever you choose” because I am focussing on Head and Neck Cancer: 29/51 Your Choice. Mine is: World Head & Neck Cancer Day. 20.7.2020. Hope to see you there. Take care, Denyse.
