Weekly Gratitude 2020 19/52

2020 gratitude

Welcome to yet another Sunday everyone! It’s amazing that I can still remember the days seeing as they all seem to blur into one these days. There’s a chill in the air but we have bright blue skies. It’s been a strange and busy week, emotionally heavy in many ways that are not necessarily isolation-related. It was also my first week working reduced hours and I had Monday off. For this week, it was nice and much-needed but time will tell how I go. Anyway, it’s time now to look back with gratitude at the week from 3rd May to 9th May 2020:

‘Running’ 12.65 kms on Sunday – I won’t lie, I crashed completely after that run but it was worth the pain

Chats with the family

Writing a piece of microfiction and poetry this week

Being able to sit in the park in the sunshine enjoying a book and a coffee on my day off

Doing 1000 reps on Tuesday as part of the #1000repchallenge. I plan to do one every week in May to help raise funds for Canteen. Look out for it on Instagram

A good but heavy therapy session with some massive breakthroughs

Soaking up the sunshine mid-week during my lunch break with a walk and laughs with Sammie and Teddy

Receiving some sweet and savoury treats from Sam, and a lovely gift voucher to Better Read than Dead that I won in a giveaway from Lauren Chater

A good long chat during the week where I felt validated for so many things

Watching a beautiful sunset or two. Autumn skies are the best!

Having a friend over for dinner on Friday night – because now we can have at least two people over!

Gorgeous swim in the ocean on Saturday morning and enjoying some solo time at the beach

It’s been a decent week, and while I’m emotionally a bit drained, I am grateful for my friends and family. I know in terms of lockdown measures, we have had it easier than most countries but I do wish to get back to a few ‘normal’ things like going to the gym, sitting in a cafe with a book, sitting in a park without any care in the world, sunbaking and reading at the beach, going to a bar and enjoying a drink, browsing bookstores and of course, listening to live music {which sadly, I think will be a lot longer than the rest}.

How was your week?

Do share!

What a nice, cheery post. I wrote Microfiction too yesterday for NYCflashfiction competition. It wasn’t so good – but done! Now to get an idea for Grieve. I’m really blanking on stories at the moment…#Lifethisweek

Great to hear you ran so far. I have been taking 9.5km walks. They take 2 hours and my body feels both great and terrible after! (As you know.)

Yay! So pleased to see Teddy and I made the cut again this week, I think the enjoyment derived from our little outings is definitely mutual. I too am loving the winter sunshine and am in awe of all your reps! I am loving the cats getting in on the action, I think they should have their own hashtag like #kittyskeepfit Fingers crossed we’ll legally be able to sit down with our coffee this week!

A mixed week but so much more on the positive and growth too. Love how you are connecting in different ways and with others now you are back in the city. Drove through Long Jetty on my way to Erina today and thought of you!

Thanks so much for linking up for Life This Week. Next week, the optional prompt is 20/51 Share Your Snaps #4. 18.5.2020 and I look forward to catching you linking up there too. Warm wishes, Denyse.
