Weekly Gratitude 2020 16/52

2020 gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! I’m back with my weekly gratitude posts. It’s been a struggle to write on the blog when things have been shitty. I have, however, continued to keep my gratitude diary in real life but I think it might be time to revive the practice here too. I’m contemplating backdating some posts including my monthly reflection posts which I didn’t do for February or March and given the strange times we are in, I guess it doesn’t matter if I do strange things on the blog. Anyway, without further ado, here are all the things I’m grateful for from 12th April to 18th April 2020:

Going for a long walk locally on Easter Sunday with a friend

Beautiful autumn weather and seeing the leaves turn orange and red

Lots of love from the cats {and lots of demands too!}

Lovely chats and check-ins from online friends and IRL friends

Living in a beautiful area and being able to go for walks and more walks

Clocking off close to time every day this week and going for a walk after work

Being able to focus on reading again

Fun trivia evening with work on Friday via Zoom

The area I live – I continue to explore as well as do the same walks but it never gets old

Going for a run on Saturday morning and not dying!

Walking part of the Spit to Manly walk with a friend

Family catch up on Zoom across three continents

Good supervision session on Friday

A good week at work where I felt productive but not completely drained

I may have reached the acceptance stage of this entire shitstorm. I’m still taking it one day at a time. Some days are harder than others. I still miss going to live gigs, to bars, to author events and catch up with friends. But most of all, I miss hugs and touch. If I know you in real life, be assured when we meet once this shit is done, I’m going to squish you with hugs for a lot longer than is considered socially acceptable!

Isn’t it funny how we move through the cycle and keep on going? Hugs, touching and being close to people are things I’ve noticed I’m missing as well. Glad to hear you’re going OK Sanch. #lifethisweek

As iso weeks go, yours sounds pretty good! How awesome is the Spit to Manly? And I’ve loved your scenic Sydney pics too. You inspired me to go for a run at the weekend, it was my first run for ages but I don’t think it will be my last! We did zoom trivia with friends on Saturday – it was so much fun. Hope to catch up with you in person soon!

Well-done on the progress…getting there and through to a semblance of acceptance is bloody hard. The area where you are living is incredibly scenic and you have many options to explore outside.
Thanks for linking up for Life This Week. Next week, the optional prompt is Life Stories 1. Hope to see you there. Denyse.
