Weekly Gratitude 2019 30/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Hello everyone! It’s pretty late this Sunday as I bring you my weekly gratitude edition. I don’t have too many excuses apart from the fact that I’ve been trying to write words for the YeahWrite Super Challenge {and not doing a great job at it, I must confess} and been a bit busy this weekend. It’s been a weird week as I started the week quite sick and needed to take the day off on Monday. Then, I pushed myself to work two twelve hour days despite feeling like shit and worked again on Thursday feeling like crap. I started to feel a bit more human on Friday when I had the day off due to having to go into my old uni for a networking/mentoring event of sorts. Anyway, like I said, it’s been a weird week. But without further ado, here’s all the things I am grateful for from 21st July 2019 to 27th July 2019.

Friends who are empathic and know what to say when they see you are about to embark down the rabbit hole of self-loathing

Having a job where I can afford to take a sick day when I need it

Sleeping for over 12 hours two nights in a row. Apparently my body needed that

Cold and flu tablets and nasal sprays

Cats who are the best nurses when you’re sick

Really good supervision session with my supervisor on Thursday. There may have been tears on my part

Seeing clients whose lives give you perspective and make you realise you have so much to be grateful for

Hearing some good news – though slightly surprising and unbelievable – on Friday

Chats with my sister

Seeing my friend {and old housemate} Z on Saturday – always good to have her over and catch up

I’m hoping my health improves this week; the head cold is no longer as bad as it was. I haven’t gone to the gym for strength-training but hoping I can get back to it this week. I have missed it! I’m not very good at being sick and self-pity does take hold of me. But I am glad for the cat cuddles and for listening to my body.

How was your week?

Do share!

I am glad that you are getting better, though it was no fun having to work when you were sick. You had a busy week. Do take care of yourself and make sure you get the necessary rest. This week I’m grateful for my family who let me take rest as I was down with back pain. My little one still waned me to carry him, but the elder one was very helpful. My husband took care of the majority of the chores at home. 🙂
Cuddles to pebbles and buttons. 🙂

Head colds are the worst and can easily turn into man flu. I tend to do the soldier on and self pity thing & hate it when they hit when I’m busy and can’t take a day off – which is probably why I got it in the first place. Here’s hoping you’re back to normal very quickly.

Hope you’re on the mend, Sanch! Take care.

There’s lots to be said for unexpected good news. I had some this week as well and it’s made me smile on the inside.

Urgh, there’s so many icky germs going round at the moment, pleased you are feeling better! I spent the first half of the week in Brisvegas and the second half at home so it’s been the best of both worlds!

Awwww to the tearing up in a great session with your supervisor. Well-done you. Being sick is awful.I was so grateful (crossed fingers) not to get Influenza A (despitr flu shot) that my husband had. Took him the full 4 weeks the GP predicted to get well.

Thanks for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week’s optional prompt is 31/51 Gratitude 5/8/19 I hope you can come on over and join in. Denyse.
