Weekly Gratitude 2019 28/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday my lovely readers! I am writing to you from sunny but slightly cold Brisbane this week where I’ve been since Thursday night. I’m heading back home tomorrow but it’s been a fun few days. Brisbane has changed a fair bit since 2012. Then again, back then, I visited with family and stayed with family friends which is a very different experience to solo travel. Anyway, it’s time for me to look back at all that I’m grateful for from 7th July 2019 to 13th July 2019.

Board games afternoon on Sunday with my friends

Decluttering my closet and house {and then promptly buying some clothes online and having to hold myself accountable online that I will NOT be buying any clothes for the next 6 months}

Surviving presenting to my team at work on a day when I was struck by sinusitis and bad sniffles

Flight delay on Thursday night being made better by a couple of Furphys and a book at the airport

Exploring Brisbane CBD by foot on Friday

Glorious Brisbane winter weather on Friday – 26 degrees!

Meeting Vanessa and Sarah in person. Always love meeting bloggers

Enjoying the hipster bars and pubs in Brisbane and Fortitude Valley. Some great eats and awesome beers

The Dead of Winter music festival on Saturday – got to see some awesome bands including one of my favourites

Actually plucking up the courage to go and speak to my favourite band at this festival – Opus of a Machine – after their set. One of the members introduced themselves to me {I already knew who he was, of course} and when I said my full name, he recognised me from social media. They knew I’d come from Sydney and were very generous with their time, chatted with me about their music and upcoming stuff, took a photo with me and signed some merch. Needless to say, I was on a happy high all of yesterday that is continuing today!

It’s been a good week – a short one at work and a lot of fun travelling and exploring solo. I also realise, I should do short trips like this more often. It’s a decent break and good for the batteries.

How was your week?

Do share!

    This reminds me, I must go back to your FB post and note down those recommendations! Pleased you had such a fun time – we’ve been making an effort to have short breaks every/other month and it really makes a difference. You come back feeling so recharged and refreshed. So cool about the band – I once met Coldplay at the after party and nearly got to be their personal astrologer but this was before they got really famous obvs! I’m grateful that I’m following in your footsteps and headed to Brisbane this week!

    Short trips are so reinvigorating – and I think you interact with so many more people when you travel solo. I wouldn’t have the guts to say hello to my fave band or my fave cook or my fave anything so kudos to you. Glad we organised good weather for you lol.
