Weekly Gratitude 2019 23/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday, dear readers! It’s the long weekend down this way for the Queen’s birthday {the only reason why we probably are not a republic yet}. There’s so much to do and my list of things to get done this weekend is looooong. I’m hoping I can at least get through the things that are priorities. My week has been busy and partly exhausting but it has had a lot of good stuff too. So without further ado, here are all the things I’m grateful for from 2nd June to 8th June 2019.

Catching up with a couple of my friends on Sunday arvo

Dinner catch up with an old work friend on Monday night

Receiving 2 kgs of south Indian filter coffee from my parents in the mail

Being able to write some poetry and micro prose this week

Being able to stop at Modern Organic for a coffee on Thursday morning and then a red velvet hot chocolate as I was working in the area

Catching up with some new writerly folk on the coast on Friday night

Waking up on Saturday morning to the news that my poetry and my microprose were chosen as editor’s picks at YeahWrite this week! It’s such an honour and so exciting!

Attending the So you want to be a writer podcast live event as part of Vivid on Saturday morning. Such good information and so many laughs from Allison Tait, Valerie Khoo, Candice Fox and Pamela Freeman. They are all an amazing wealth of knowledge. If you haven’t listened to the podcast, you should! They now have 283 episodes and it’s a wealth of writing information and inspiration!

Talking to other writers after the event and speaking with Allison Tait who was very helpful and gave me some good advice. I’m feeling totally inspired now. Also, getting to catch up with the lovely Rah who I’ve known through this space from the early days of blogging

Saturday evening in Sydney with my friends JR, JC, DB and GP. We enjoyed Vivid lights, good food, some drinks and a lot of laughs

It’s been a good week and while work has been quite hectic, it’s still enjoyable. There’s so much I want to do with work and writing and music and being social and I’ll confess I’m struggling to balance it all. But I can’t complain because sometimes, it’s nice to know there are so many things I’m passionate about.

How was your week?

Do share!

Congrats on the writing – you’re unstoppable now! Love your Vivid pics, I can’t believe I haven’t been at all this year. I think it’s a combination of being too tired, too cold and too complacent! Personally I was very grateful for the long weekend, all those years I lived in England and we never got a day off for the Queen’s birthday! Go figure 🙂 Now all I need is to get all aboard the Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Train!
