Weekly Gratitude 2019 21/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday, dear readers! This has been my first quiet weekend this month where I’ve had literally no plans other than a catch up with my writing group on Saturday. As a result, I made a to-do list as long as my arm to get through some life admin stuff. Needless to say, I’ve spent most of the time reading or Netflixing and not getting too much done. But the plan is to sit down and get my tax-return paperwork sorted out for 2017-18 {Yeah, that’s not a typo – I’m really late!}. But anyway, without further ado, it’s time to look back at what’s been a busy work week for all things I’m grateful for from 19th May to 25th May 2019.

Brunch on Sunday with my friend JR

Buying beautiful flowers to cheer myself up

Exercising every week day this week

Watching After Life on Netflix and feeling all the feels – I absolutely love shows like these which speak openly and rawly about death, depression, suicide and the like but more importantly, about meaning and purpose in life

Speaking to my parents and my sister this week

Catching the sunrise on a morning run

Getting doggy cuddles at a home visit for a client and also having a curious bunny sniffing my boots at another #preksofthejob

Having time during the week to pop in to my favourite cafe for a takeaway coffee

My poem Tainted Love being chosen as part of the editor’s pick at Yeah Write

Taking myself to the movies on Friday night after work to watch Avengers: Endgame. I haven’t been to the movies here since September last year {I’m not too keen on spending loads of money for something that’ll be out on streaming devices or DVD!} but I figured this was one I wanted to watch on the big screen

Phone conversations with friends

Lots and lots and lots of cat cuddles

It’s been a week where work has kinda taken over and I’ve just crashed in front of the telly most nights or gone to bed. In some ways, it’s good. In other ways, not so much {for instance, I think I have snacked a bit too much at work and have actually gained weight!}. I think the week ahead is going to be similar but luckily I have an accrued day off on Friday and I am also going to be seeing my favourite band live after ages! So a lot to look forward to!

How was your week?

Do share!

Until next time,

That sounds like a reasonable week to me. With dog and cat cuddles is bound to be nice. Exercised every day sure it’s wonderful. I love those sky views that you shared. I am looking forward to a peaceful week.

You seem to have had a nice week all right. For a while I thought you’d got yourself a dog till I realised that it was a cuddle on a visit…

Haha, I need to get last year’s tax return done too! I’d definitely be grateful for dog and cat cuddles,

We had a quiet weekend too and it was just what the doctor ordered! How good was After Life? I’m not really a Ricky Gervais fan but I really loved it. Currently binging on Killing Eve and Dead to Me – both are great. I actually had a power nap during End Game but we did go and see Aladdin at the weekend and it was so much fun! As for that sunrise on your run, totally worth getting up for!

A pretty decent week I say. If you did snack, you also exercised all week so that should count for something. A quiet weekend is always welcome. And a Yeah Write pick is huge. They’re one writing group I really respect.

That sounds like a balanced week to me – especially since you also exercised each day. I just ate ALL weekend…and am now suffering the results with a funny tummy. Wishing you a great week.

Aww Cat and dog cuddles are the best. Congratz on YeahWrite pick. I am probably the only one left who hasn’t watched Endgame yet. It’s so difficult because I now have to avoid memes and news like plague in case I end up reading a spoiler.
Have fun filled week and enjoy the live show.

I was skeptical about After Life… will give it a shot now. And you get bunnies as part of perks of the job! That is so cool!

A pretty well balanced week I say!

Good on you for exercise when it is much more cosy in bed.
