Weekly Gratitude 2019 19/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Welcome to another Sunday, lovely readers! I’m sitting here with a hot cup of coffee and wearing my down jacket inside the house because it’s well and truly cold. It also explains why I have seriously struggled to wake up this week and hit the gym – I only went once and that was in the evening but I have tried to walk a bit during the week or do some yoga at home. Still, it’s not the same as strength training and I have had to ask a couple of friends to be my accountability partner from tomorrow so I get my arse out of my warm bed! Anyway, I digress. It’s that time of the week for me to look back on all that I’m grateful for from 5th May 2019 to 11th May 2019.

Catching the sunrise on Sunday morning at the beach as I was camping – there was cloud cover but it was still a lovely way to start the day

Brunch at Modern Organic with camping friends – we ended up going two days in a row!

Watching Dean Lewis in concert at the Enmore theatre on Monday night – it’s different to my usual rock/metal gigs but I enjoy his music. This show was very different to when I first saw him in 2017 at the Oxford Art Factory when he played an entirely acoustic set. Also, this time, there were a lot more teenage girls than any gig I go to!

Writing a lot of poetry this week – I published three of them on the blog – Melancholy, Rainy Day, Life and Death

Finishing Bojack Horseman on Netflix – such an interesting and deep show! I need to rewatch it before the new season and this time, write down some of the mind-blowing quotes!

Listening to some brilliant music on Spotify – Jakob and Lost in Kiev have been two discoveries/recommendations

Lots of cat cuddles this week

Watching Amy Shark in concert at the Hordern Pavilion on Friday night. Once again, slightly different to the music I listen to, but she was incredible! It was worth the two hour drive to the venue and the hour being stuck in the carpark after the concert

Dog cuddles from a friend’s dog

Being part of Modern Organic’s ‘Hey Neighbour‘ series on Instagram

Catching up with my friend JR on Saturday and doing a book crawl through Dymocks, Ampersand Cafe and books, Berkelouw books in Paddington, Oscar and Friends in Surry Hills. I was very restrained and *only* bought 6 books

Reading Self-Compassion by Kristen Neff and finding it helpful both professionally and personally {especially after the previous week I’ve had!}

Being selected for the crowd favourite for Yeah Write’s Nonfiction category this week

Feeling productive at work this week

It’s been a good week. I have managed to pull myself out of the hole I was in last week. That’s not to say the occasional sadness and melancholy still lingers {I’m starting to think my baseline mood might be lower than most}, but I’ve made the effort {barring exercise}, to do more things and be more mindful of my thinking patterns. Neff’s book is definitely helping and I’m going to compile information from it for future reference.

How was your week?

Do share!

I get the laziness for not hitting the workout routine- the heat has been getting to me and I have been loathe to leave the cool room to go out for a walk!! Tomorrow!!!!

Glad to see you having such a lively week; the music sessions are really something else. I am envious of the music scene around you – keep sharing these pics Sanch and have a great week ahead.

It has got really chilly hasn’t it? Although I’m not complaining, it’s perfect running weather! I’m so impressed with the number of gigs you get to go to – music is so good for the soul! Hope you have a wonderful week!

I am also getting back on track both with my walking and strength training of late. Fingers crossed that I continue this way. Happy to hear about your week. From camping to cuddles all sounds very nice. And getting a partner will definitely up your accountability when it comes to workout. Wish you a nice week.

Well-done you! I love how life can just change anyway and we don’t necessarily have to ‘think it’ or ‘do it’ it just does.

    Great wrap up!

Thanks for sharing on #lifethisweek and next week’s optional prompt is 20/51 Share Your Snaps #4 20/5/19 so do join in! Denyse
