2019 weekly gratitude

Who would have thought – it’s another Sunday! This week has seemed like the longest week thanks to a lot going on at work for me. I was ready for the weekend on Tuesday. By the time Friday came around, I was emotionally and mentally spent! Consequently, it’s been a relatively quiet weekend as opposed to my normal super social ones. Anyway, here are just some of the things I’m grateful for from 7th April to 13th April 2019.

Breakfast with a friend and good conversation on Sunday morning

Getting some life admin done on Sunday that I’d been procrastinating on for a while and still getting to the beach

Finishing a couple of amazing books this week – Staring at the Sun: Overcoming the terror of death by Irvin Yalom on Sunday, and Yellow by Megan Jacobsen on Friday

Finding new music on Spotify

Exercising every weekday and getting stronger

Realising that sometimes, I do make a difference in the lives of my clients

Book club mid week with good food and good chats

Interesting conversations with some of the other psychologists on other teams

Buying myself flowers

Lots of kitty cuddles when I’m home

Brunch and a lovely walk by the foreshore with my friend on Saturday

My friend believing in me and reminding me I am actually a courageous and confident person {something I forget easily!}

I’m actually not fussed about the week ahead – it’s a short one as there’s a long weekend ahead. But it also means work could potentially get a little crazy.

      I did it last year and loved it so I kept it up this year as well. I keep a gratitude journal personally on a daily basis anyway at the moment

    You are definitely a courageous and confident person. I’m sure you make a difference to your clients and your readers. You know, I used to scoff at this gratitude thing but I’ve dabbled a bit lately and it does help. Thanks for the reminder.

    Those books sound good – should I add them to my list? I’m just about to finish Carly Findlay’s Say Hello and it’s fabulous. I love your list, I’m grateful that I’m almost lurgy free and enjoyed some r and r (and really good food) in Canberra. Sometimes a change really is as good as a rest!

      Ooh yes, I do recommend them both. I’ll be reviewing Yellow shortly but not sure how to review the other one yet. There are parts of staring at the sun catered to therapists but I think everyone could benefit from it. Good to hear you’re almost feeling better and the trip to Canberra was good. I enjoyed your photos!

    You seemed to have had a relaxing weekend. The food pictures look great. And hey, its always good to hear about our strengths from our dear ones, right? Sometimes we tend to forget what we’re capable of and these reminders are just a beautiful way of being aware of our potential. Hope you have a splendid weekend ahead!

      Yeah it’s nice to get reminders like that! I think we tend to be our harshest critics so it’s nice when someone else reminds us of what we are capable of!

    I can def relate to the client vibe. But my peepers zeroed in on Spotify– can’t recall the last time I made it a point to prowl for new-to-me tunes. Thx much for a delightful addition to my bullet journal self-care options list. Every tool counts, ‘specially re a writer’s block.
