Weekly Gratitude 2019 9/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s a slightly late edition of my weekly gratitude post. I’m finding it pretty crappy at the moment to have to password protect these posts. I’m also struggling to blog these days because I feel like my voice has been stifled due to these issues. I’m hoping I don’t completely lose the joy of blogging and interacting with you all out there because of this one individual. Anyway, it’s been a bit of a big week. There was some intense stuff at work and I hit a bit of a funk at some point earlier {not work-related} and just spiralled a little bit. But, I picked myself back up again because it’s what I do. So without further ado, here’s things I’m grateful for from 24th February to 2nd March 2019.

Exercising every day – mostly strength training but also a run mid-week and a walk on Sunday. It keeps me sane!

Lots of kitty cuddles

Hitting the beach after work on Monday and Friday – both much needed!

Feeling incredibly valued by my team leader and manager mid-week for helping out with a certain issue

Writing my way out of my funk

The privilege to listen to the latest single Good Lord by Birds of Tokyo and hear the story behind the lyrics. My heart breaks for Kenny and yet, it’s a good example of writing our way through the pain

Having access to incredible music that soothes you, helps you feel and gives voice to your emotions

Friends checking in on me

Catching the sunrise on my run

Going to a gig on Friday night – not my usual rock gigs but The Paper Kites were still pretty awesome

Bumping into someone at the gig I worked with briefly back in 2007. We’ve only been in touch through instagram and facebook so it was a lovely surprise to see her

Saturday night with my friends celebrating one of their birthdays – laughs, long conversations and bowling. I almost won {for the first time ever!} but then choked. I blame the third beer

It’s been an overwhelming kind of week but I am really grateful it finished on a high with the beach, friends and music and long chats. Sydney keeps calling me and I will respond soon despite some anxieties. In the mean time, I am going to enjoy what each day brings.

How was your week?

Do share!

Until next time,

My week was extremely busy learning new things at work so I can do them when my colleague is away on holiday in April – but cramming them into 4 days not 5 as I was going on holiday. It felt good to get the hang of something new but also frustrating to make a few mistakes.

Then I was incredibly anxious about my sore back and flying long haul. I feel grateful wasn’t too bad at all in the end but I mourn for the days where it wasn’t a thing and I could just slump in a seat without even thinking about it.

Then the high of seeing family and the low of the reality of parents aging and having health issues. I’m grateful for every moment with them.
