Weekly Gratitude 2019 12/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Welcome to yet another Sunday gratitude edition! What a week it’s been! I visited the emergency department on Monday after my chest pain and shortness of breath worsened {it was still probably acid reflux after all the tests}, had a cold on Tuesday which then developed into a sore throat and had to take a sick day on Wednesday. But I’m doing much better now after all the cold and flu tablets and the acid reflux medication and wondering if it was all somehow connected and of course, caused by stress! And don’t even get me started on the state government election results. I’m out of swear words for that at the moment. But despite that, there’s a lot to be grateful for from 17th March to 23rd March 2019.

A couple of my friends visiting from Sydney on Sunday to check in on me as I was sick

My team leader visiting me a couple of times while I was in the emergency department waiting for the results of all the scans and tests being done

Three friends keeping me company via text while I was waiting in ED during their own busy work schedules – it was really nice of them as I was actually quite anxious

Blogging freely and more importantly, bravely again. Because it is good for my mental health

A friend delivering turmeric latte to me on my sick day as I pretty much didn’t leave the couch except to go to the bathroom and take my medication

My health improving by Friday overall

Good personal training session on Thursday evening

Completing 35 push-ups in one minute during the PT session as part of a challenge they’re running. It’s my personal best and I tied with another woman for the top spot. Of course, the challenge runs till 30th March so I’m sure there’ll be someone who beats me but it was pretty cool

Friends online and offline and family checking in on me due to my health

Finally being able to have a beach day yesterday after two weeks of crappy weather

Chats with my sister

Girls’ night in on Saturday night with a couple of movies and snacks

In a week where I felt like shit physically, and consequently, emotionally {because I don’t do being sick too well!}, I had a lot to be grateful for. Mostly, they were the people in my life. It gives me so much faith in kindness and humanity and the goodness of people even with all the darkness that can exist in the world.

How was your week?

Do share!

I can understand how it must have been as I have been battling a sore throat since almost two weeks now. And, your acidity was due to all the stress you were going through. It does feel good to know that you are able to blog ‘freely’ now.
It’s a blessing having people who care for us during our ups and downs. And, it’s counting our lucky stars during the downs that can help us come out of it all.
    Take care, Sanch!

Can I just say I am glad this is behind you? It seems like it was a suck-all week and that can’t have been fun. Props to you for not giving up and for seeing the bright spots always.

And YAY again for rocking that fitness challenge. Go you! Have a great week ahead. 🙂

Oh my goodness you had a week and a half of it. From the emergency department to a push-up PB! Plenty to be grateful for, for sure.
