2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! I’m a little bit exhausted this Sunday morning after a busy week at work, being emotionally drained on Thursday night and Friday after the stalker I mentioned before sent me something in the mail, and then a late night on Friday after I went to a gig in Sydney. I was hoping for a sleep-in this Sunday morning but my body clock is such, I could only sleep-in till 630. But it’s fine. The tiredness is definitely more because of the emotional toll and feeling a bit helpless which in turn, makes me feel angry. But, this post isn’t to rant about the shitty stuff. This is to look at things to be grateful for despite the shitty stuff. So without further ado, here are things I’m grateful for from 10th February 2019 to 16th February 2019:

A relaxed Sunday spent reading, watching Netflix, meal prepping and heading to the beach

A busier than usual work week but also feeling I’m contributing in a good way as some families and young people are genuinely grateful

Mid-week book club with the girls

A good exercise week {except for the weekend}

Awesome amazing friends all over – I honestly cannot be more grateful to have all these fantastic people in my life!!!

Getting some uplifting and constructive feedback for the short story I submitted last week

Speaking to a lovely lady over the phone from the court services who could hear I was really feeling intimidated and validated my experience and told me what my next steps should be

Surviving taking the cats to the vet for the first time since moving here – I have battle scars but hopefully it’s another year before we have to go through that again!

Watching Cog play live for the first time on Friday night – they were amazing! The support acts Omnific and Osaka Punch were pretty good too. But Cog. Just wow

Finishing Any Ordinary Day by Leigh Sales and being filled with hope – a review to come soon

An interesting writing workshop on Saturday and meeting some lovely people

Catching up with my friend in Sydney after the writing workshop after more than a year

It’s been a weird week, sort of surreal, sort of going through the motions. But amidst it all, there have been silver linings. It’s tough not writing much on the blog but I’m trying to still write and work on projects on the side. As I said, I really hope to come back to writing freely like I used to. In the mean time, thank you for sticking around.
