Weekly Gratitude 2019 3/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! That seemed to come around a bit quicker than usual. It’s a cool, rainy and overcast morning here – very different from the warm and sunshiney week we have had. It’s that time of the week to reflect back on all the things I’m grateful for from 13th January to 19th January 2019.

Sunday breakfast with my friend AU from Melbourne at my favourite cafe

Watching The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix on Sunday and Monday night – although at first, I struggled with the ‘horror’ element {I don’t do horror!}, I realised it was more than just a ghost story. It left me with tears and goosebumps in the end

Having work colleagues look out for me and telling me not to overload myself with clients or else I’ll burn out

Being able to go to the beach each evening after work

Books from my sister for my birthday

Turning 35, spending the evening at the beach with a book, a beer and some food, reflecting on lessons I’ve learnt over the years and loving the fact that I’ve grown so much, particularly in the past decade

Coming up with a list of 40 things I want to do before I turn 40

Buying tickets to see Russian Circles play in Sydney later this year

Getting feedback on my short story from my writing group; now I just need to somehow cut 400 words from a perfectly tight story!

Listening to awesome music in the car and at home

Learning about Mary Oliver and reading beautiful poetry by her

Having friends over on Saturday from Sydney and the Coast to celebrate my birthday – we picnicked near the lake/beach, went stand-up paddleboarding and/or kayaking as well as swimming followed by an evening at a local hotel eating good food, drinking good beer and listening to a live two-piece band. Most of all, I’m grateful to have been able to share it with some amazing people who could make it despite my very last minute and disorganised planning!

It’s been a good week. I *may* have had a bit much to drink on Saturday and possibly have been a bit slack on the exercise front {only three times this week} but I’m hoping to rectify that this coming week! I need to get back to eating healthy and exercising regularly again. I’ve been sleeping late only because I’ve been enjoying discovering new music, reading, thinking about stories and projects and other creative stuff and basically going down a million rabbit holes!

How was your week?

Do share!

Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like you had a great weekend. I’ve had a hard week – some of my friends are having very tough times. Sometimes life is really cruel and I just can’t get my head around it. Sigh. But I’ve been escaping with lots of good books. Reading a good book is like going on a great adventure, don’t you think?

Good to hear that your birthday went so well, Sanch. Receiving books as gifts are always welcome. That cake looks delicious. Looks like a good week for you. Mine was overshadowed with kids ‘ exams, work and The Affair, Season 4 that I finished watching. Am currently reading The English Patient.

Friends, food, good times… Fabulous way to celebrate your birthday. I haven’t been to the beach in a while now. Even though not my top favorite place, I do miss watching the sunrise and the feel of sand between my toes.
The hunting of hill house is the best thing I watched on Netflix last year. Now I wish I had slowed down and not finished the whole series in one weekend.
Wish you a wonderful week ahead ?

I look forward to your gratitude things each week. I’m not a fan of supernatural or horror, but just read the spiel on the Haunting of Hill House & already have pictures in my mind I’ll find it tough to shake…and goosebumps. It does, however, sound like you had a great birthday weekend – sometimes the really fun times are those that weren’t planned to be so. Have a great week,

Happy belated birthday, Sanch! I can’t believe I missed wishing you. I’m so sorry 🙁

Nice to see that you had a good week and I’m so jealous of the fact that you get to visit the beach everyday! As much as I love Bangalore, I do miss a beach here.

Wishing you more fantastic weeks ahead.

Sanch, your weekly gratitude posts have become a regular in my blogging week. They give a good start to my weekly reading. Walking and reading by the sea! This sounds wonderful. I am glad you had a good time on your birthday and otherwise throughout the week. It is lovely your work colleagues are watching out for you. May you find lots of calm and peace 🙂

I couldn’t comment on this post on Sunday when I read it. I love starting the week reading your weekly gratitude. It reminds me that Sunday is here. Admire that persistence.
So glad to hear that you had a good birthday weekend. I love how beach is in your gratitude list every week. So nice. Here in Arizona we don’t have a beach. We have to go to California for that.
Of to read your 35 lessons post. ?
