Weekly Gratitude 2019 1/52

2019 weekly gratitude

Welcome to the first weekly gratitude post for 2019! To those of you who stayed with me through 2018, thank you! And for any new readers, this was something I started last year and found it extremely beneficial for my wellbeing. Focussing on things that I’m grateful for does not mean shit doesn’t happen in my life. It just means I also know there’s good stuff there in addition to the not-so-good. Anyway, without further ado, it’s time to look back at all that I’m grateful for from 30th December 2018 to 5th January 2019:

A day to myself  on Sunday to reflect with gratitude on the year gone by

Realising I have made some wonderful strong connections in 2018

Watching my first soccer game live with a couple of friends – it was the weirdest thing ever after the goal post broke, thereby delaying the game by 50 minutes but it was fun

Long conversations and good catch ups with friends

Starting 2019 by going to the gym {24/7 gyms are awesome!}, then a couple of hours at the beach and then reading  a wonderful book on the first day of the year – If cats disappeared from the world

Sunshine and warm weather and living near the beach

Going for a swim every day this week – after work on some days, and in the morning on my days off

Setting intentions for 2019, breaking it down into behaviours, and feeling a sense of optimism and hope

Having to put my motto for the year into action within the first few days – so much courage required!

A supportive team leader in my new role

Catching a beautiful sunset by the beach

Writing flash fiction and poetry again

It’s felt like a short week because of the public holidays at the start of the week. It will be weird going back to a full week of work from tomorrow given we have had a few short weeks. But it’s still January; it’s still summer and there’s a lot to look forward to.

How was your week?

Do share!

Until next time,

Good to read your first weekly gratitude post of the year, Sanch. It came across as a nice week. Mine want so good with bad cough and viral fever keeping me sick. The weather has become unnaturally cold and allergy inducing. Soccer game sounds like fun despite the goal post thing.

Your post reminds me that I need to get back to my workout routine as well–starting next week!

Glad you had a week full of good conversations and books–hoping this good streak will continue for you the entire year!

That’s a good first week of the new year. Swimming every day? I can’t swim well. My 9-year-old is giving me swim lessons. 🙂 Loved the clicks you shared. Watching soccer game live must be a different experience; I have never watched any game live. I fell sick, getting better now. My workout routine is broken because of that. I started 30-day Yoga with Adriene and couldn’t practice from the third day. With Christmas holidays, my new year will officially start only from tomorrow when all 3 of the boys are not home. 🙂

Sounds like you had a lovely start to the year! I’ve been hearing a lot about If cats disappeared from the world. I’m going to figure out if I can borrow it from someone, since I’m a no book buying year 😉

I am so glad you are back to the gratitude posts. I look forward to them even if I don’t regularly comment because it’s a gentle, regular reminder that there is so much to be always grateful for. I was writing the monthly posts on my other blog, but the main blog took precedence last year. Will try to get back to the gratitude posts from this year again.

Wishing you lots of love and plenty of hope for 2019.

Such a happy shiny start to the year! My week was really good too, with work finally taking a back seat in my life, I was able to enjoy my reading and writing as well.

Wishing you many such happy weeks! Kudos to you for keeping this up this year as well 🙂
