Disguise

an easy smile
a hearty laugh
kind to others
popular enough
flawless skin
a perfect size
highly intelligent
with an insta-worthy life

But,

they do not see
the sorrow in your eyes
the pain kept hidden
under layers of disguise
they do not hear
the cruel words in your head
full of self-loathing
telling you to be dead

Yes, the masks we wear in life, the pain and heartbreaks hidden so well from the world. It’s a story of many. You expressed that excellently with your words.
