Weekly Gratitude 2018 50/52

gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! As I typed the heading to this post, I realised we have two more weeks to the end of 2018. Two weeks! That’s it! I swear December just started. I feel like I need a moment to breathe and wonder where the last fortnight disappeared to. It’s time though, to reflect on all that I’m grateful for from 9th December to 15th December 2018.

Starting my Sunday with a yoga class and then time at the beach

Getting back to the gym – even though I only went three days in addition to yoga, it was still a start!

Starting my new role and having time to ease into things

Nerding out and reading psychological research on systems as well as clinical interventions

Feeling excited about the new role and rekindling hope in making changes and contributing to bettering the lives of kids and teens

Christmas book club on Wednesday night – so nice to see the girls, eat good food, enjoy long conversations, have a bookish Secret Santa and talk about the book

Feeling welcomed at the Christmas party for the new workplace

Catching up with old colleagues and friends on Friday night at the Christmas party for the old workplace

A lovely Saturday browsing bookstores in the city with my friend L and buying 14 books – nine of those were a bargain!

My cats giving me so many cuddles all week!

It’s been a good week overall. It’s great getting back to work with renewed energy and hope. I’m hoping it lasts! I miss my old colleagues who were friends and a great laugh but the new team is quite funny too {I think that comes with working in mental health!} I am looking forward to figuring out this role while also continuing to build meaning into my life in other ways.

How has your week been?

Do share!

Hi Sarah- great post about gratitude, I love reading these. I just got a new job too and just went to christmas parties last week and felt really welcomed as well. I was so anxious about them at first and then really relieved when I had so much fun!

I’ve been on your blog a couple of times in the past and it is amazing how you have manged to keep the weekly gratitude circle going. There are so many things to be thankful for and often we forget these in the break neck speed of life. Thank you for making me slow down here and enjoy this post. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you in advance.

Wow, 14 books you say! I pick those many from the library but never buy more than a couple at a time. I love reading your weekly gratitude, it is such a positive and happy habit. Yep, only 2 more weeks to go. My son will turn 9 on the 30th. I can’t believe that it’s been 9 years already. I still feel like a 9 year old. Times whizzes by, doesn’t it?

What a great and positive time you recounted. Refreshing yourself in many ways can sometimes be the secret to long and abiding change.
Thank you for your connections & comments on #lifethisweek in 2018. It has been fun and I welcome you back in 2019. Next week’s optional prompt is “We Made It”. The last one in 2018. Denyse x
