Poetry

Disconnected

Lonely
in a crowd
A stranger
with friends around
Detached
from your feelings
A numbness
inside, congealing
Apart
while still near
Unattached
to those held dear
Hollow
within your heart
Emptiness
with death will depart

Poetry is something that I take time to understand and respond to. But, this here, is something I got right in my first reading. Why? Because that’s my story!

Beautifully showcases the pain of loneliness. As much as being unattached is a boon, in the end it does turn into a bane.

Oh this one is rough Sanch- I hope things are okay with you girl.

Being alone is a crowd is something we are perfecting these days as that’s where we all are headed with our fast lives, living with the fear of losing out on something.
