‘He hasn’t texted yet. It’s been over twelve hours!’ said Rowena staring at her phone. ‘Should I message him?’

‘The rule is to wait three days. He’ll think you’re desperate,’ said Anna with the sapience of a seventeen-year-old.

A suburb away, Jarrod’s thumb hovered nervously over the ‘send’ button.
