Dear Reader,
Yes, you. You who are right now reading this very post. You may have only just popped over this week or you might be someone who has been following me during my entire ten years of blogging — right from the days of Over Cups of Coffee till now. You may choose to no longer follow me, and that’s ok. Or you may choose to continue to read and follow me as I rebrand in the near future.
Either way, this letter is to you.
As much as I say I write because I love writing, I also write because of you.
You are my tribe, my community. Some of you know more about me than people who see me face-to-face. You have been there to share my joys and hold me in my sorrows. You have supported me through my boredom of the early years to the busyness of the last seven or so. You have given me constructive feedback about my writing and helped me grow.
I’ve only met a few of you in real life. But interestingly, even those I haven’t met yet, I would still call some of you friends. Because you get me. You get this thing called blogging. You get what it’s like to be in a writer’s head.
I love that I can talk about writing or even just share something seemingly mundane and you will have a conversation about it with me. I love how much we all adore books and keep adding to our never-ending list of to-be-read books. I love how much I learn about you through your blogs.
Blogging has changed in ten years. But I do notice, the connection between some of us still remains. Thanks to other social media, we communicate more. We have conversations from different parts of the world. We talk about everything and nothing; just like the conversations on our blogs. And it’s all because of one thing that connects us all – a love of words.
So thank you. Thank you for reading and writing. Thank you for being part of this wonderful community.
