Flash Fiction

Betrayal

She looked at the face she’d seen every day for six years staring down at her. She felt his warm breath against her cheek quicken as he leant closer. Her body stiffened, as his hand reached under her pyjamas.

She closed her eyes, holding on tighter to her teddy bear.

Very powerful, Sanch! I like how I didn’t know until the very end that the protagonist was a child. Then the gravity of it really shook me.

Oh that was like a punch in the gut. Wish I could do something to help the girl.

Child abuse goes unnoticed and wrecks the young bud. The cruel hand has to be punished.

A different take on the prompt.

This was so sad. It went from beautiful to sick in a few words.

You captured the tension so well in few lines. Hope the girl gave it back good.

This really hit hard. How very terrible for the little child.
