Time for a round of #12WBT February 2017

Back in 2012, I signed up to Michelle Bridges’ 12WBT program for the very first time. I was newly single, unhappy with my body and needed something to motivate me. Back then, I stuck to the diet and most of the exercise. I lost about 6 kilos on the program and 4 more afterwards on my own. It was more than a body transformation for me. It was a life transformation.

Fast-forward 5 years later, I’ve put back some of the weight due to a stressful 2016 that saw inconsistent exercise and very poor eating habits. I’ve lost body confidence and hate looking at myself in the mirror. In a bid to regain my health and fitness, I figured I should go back to what I know. I should go back to holding myself accountable again while getting a good exercise plan and some great meal plans.

So I signed up for the February round of 12WBT with the hope that it gets me back on track.

My overall goal is to lose 6 kilos.

More specifically, I want to be able to do the following:

  • 15 toe pushups
  • 3 minute plank
  • Run without stopping for 15 minutes

My current measurements are:

  • Weight: 51 kgs
  • Height: 152 cm
  • Bust: 77 cm
  • Waist: 68 cm
  • Hips: 86 cm
  • Left thigh: 48 cm
  • Right thigh: 51 cm
  • Left arm: 27.5 cm
  • Right arm: 28 cm

I’ve been planning my meals last week and this week and prepared them on the weekend to start to get into the 12WBT rhythm. What’s harder this time around is being in a relationship. When single, it’s easier to cook for one person and not have any food temptations. It doesn’t help that Mr Imperfect wants to gain weight and has a sweet tooth. I just have to look at chocolate and I’ll gain weight. He’s also a picky eater.

It’ll be interesting to see how things go. I’m optimistic and hopeful. And saying it out loud here certainly holds me accountable!

So do follow me on this journey, which starts next week, as I do my best to update you weekly.

Do you sign up to programs to keep you accountable?

How do you go maintaining your fitness and health?

Do share!

***Linking with Kylie for IBOT***

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Wow! That sound full-on. I’ve got healthy goals for 2017 but I’m no good at sticking to really stringent routines, so the 12WBT isn’t for me! Bit by bit the weight is coming off though and I’m feeling healthier. Good luck with your goals 🙂

Good on you for being able to live a healthy lifestyle. I find I get stuck in ruts and a program like this can help break that rut. Plus, I don’t have to do the thinking around meal plans! 😀

Good luck Sanch! Looking forward to following your journey! As you know I’ve signed up for a few different programs and I know I have to get things back on track when I get home but am going to attempt to do it on my own, mostly because of money so we’ll see how I go!

I’m not a fan of programs but I also think if it works for you, then you do it! At some point I need to see my dietitian again to adjust from iron-focused eating to a bit of weight-loss focused eating.

You are so strong willed… 3minutes plank would be an awesome accomplishment. And I wish I had your waist size. My weight I think increases the more I work out ? I wish you good luck and hope you achieve all your goals. I have been slacking the past few days. It’s just too hot ?

Sounds very positive especially when you’ve previously had success with the program. Such great goals to achieve and I think it helps planning out specific goals. It’s interesting how we all have different strengths fitness wise. I can run for 2+ hours but there’s no way I could do a 3 minute plank or 15 pushups. Currently I’m at 6 pushups and the goal is 10.

Holy crap … running for 2+ hours!!! :O I’d collapse. I’m currently between 45 secs – 1 min for planks, and can do about 6 toe push ups too. And yeah, I thought this time, having some specific goals might help as against just the weight loss.

Good luck with health and fitness goals! I’m also trying to lose a few kilos at the moment, eat healthier, exercise more and get fitter. I’m using an app to track my calorie intake and help plan ahead for meals and snacks, which really helps keep me on track. I’m still working on the exercise part but I’ll get there when I’m ready 🙂 #teamIBOT

Gosh! I need to lose 6 kgs and with my height, I am much heavier. Tel me about the food and stuff that you think I can try. I haven’t been able to lose a gram in last 6 years.
Good luck! I’m sure you can do what you set your kind at.

I don’t maintain my fitness and health. I SHOULD! Nowadays, it gets harder to do that.

A few years ago, Muay Thai did well for me, but I stopped for valid reasons. It’s not something I can get back to now. I will try to put back exercise and dancing in my system. I don’t expect to be svelte as a result as I never was since high school. I just want to be healthy for myself, my family, and maybe have a go at having a baby again once I’m healthier.

Question: Why 6 kilos? Why not 5 or 10…? Just curious. Or does this have to do with your ideal BMI?

I’m a little bit the same. I won’t do anything unless I am committed to something. I’ve switched from my old plan to the CSIRO diet which is similar to Michelle Bridges. Still got another 7kg to go!
