Reading Challenges

Reading challenge wrap-up 2016

As we near the end of 2016, it’s time for me to look back at my reading challenges for the year. This year, I signed up for four reading challenges: Goodreads, Aussie Author Challenge, Erin’s book challenge (4.0 and 5.0), and the Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge.

So how did I fare?

Goodreads challenge:

Original Goal: 40 books

Current status: 43 out of 40

Outcome: Complete!

Outdo Yourself challenge:

Original goal: 40 books {same as Goodreads}

Current status: 43 out of 40

Outcome: Complete!

Erin’s book challenge 4.0

Original goal: 10 books {195 points}

Current status: 195 points

Outcome: Complete!

Erin’s book challenge 5.0

Original goal: 10 books {200 points}

Current status: 180 points {9 books}

Outcome: Incomplete {Unfortunately, I’d moved around the last month of the challenge in October and couldn’t complete the final book}

Aussie Author Challenge

Original goal: Kangaroo {12 books}

Current status:

4 male authors: King of the road by Nigel Bartlett, Summerland by Malcolm Knox, Flesh Wounds by Richard Glover, The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion

4 female authors: Pieces of a girl by Charlotte Wood, The Hypnotist’s love story by Liane Moriarty, Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty, Everywhere I look by Helen Garner

4 authors new to me: Hades by Candice Fox, The Paper House by Anna Spargo-Ryan, The eye of the sheep by Sophie Laguna, The Light between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

Outcome: Complete!

All in all, not too shabby for a not-so-great year otherwise. I guess it did help taking public transport to work till about September which meant I read a lot. In fact, I read way more than I could review!

It’s time now to make my plans for 2017 reading challenges. That’ll be up on the blog tomorrow. So stay tuned.

Did you read much in 2016?

Do share!

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

    Wow! Awesome job, Sanch. I don’t think I will ever read 40 books in a year. But yeah, if I count the ones I’m reading with Kanna then more than 40.

    Wow! How can you read 43 books!? I managed just 12 🙁 But yes, I read with my 5 year old everyday. On an average 2 books per day.

      I think what helped this year Reema was travelling by public transport for almost 8 months which meant enough time to read! 😀
