The Month That Was

The month that was September 2016

We’ve entered the final quarter of the year today. Usually I’m shocked, stunned and surprised at how fast time is flying but honestly? Right now, I just want October to whizz past and move to December. Because you know, public holidays! And given that I don’t do all that much for Christmas, I don’t have much stress at all.

Anyway, let’s look back at September. September was a busy, busy month for me on the personal front but not so much blogging-wise. It’s not that I didn’t have any ideas to write about but just because of all that’s going on, I haven’t had time to write and engage with readers. I’ve stuck to my Friday Reflections posts which I host with Write Tribe and my weekend coffee share posts this past month. To be honest, I’m pushing it by spending time writing now when I should be tidying the unit before a rental viewing at noon.

In September, I finished my job that I started in January this year. The reasons are plenty but of course, I can’t write about them all here. It was sad saying goodbye to some of the kids I’ve gotten to know well and some of my colleagues who have become friends. Honestly though, overall I felt relieved. There was an actual skip in my step during my last week.

During September, I mused about how I am not as tolerant as I’d like to think I am. I wrote about creating yourself as I’m not a fan of finding yourself. I also wrote a letter to my 22-year-old self — life seemed so much simpler back then! I wrote a light-hearted post about my favourite movies of all time and finally, ended the month with looking into what I’d like to change about myself. I also confessed that I’m scared about all the upcoming changes and was overwhelmed with the supportive and encouraging comments.

I think my blogging will be sporadic in October until I make my move up the coast. I’ve just realised how expensive moving is going to be and I’m struggling with that! Especially now that I have more stuff than I ever did before. September has been busy and stressful but I’m looking forward to the time after I have moved because let’s face it, the packing and cleaning and organising sucks. I am however, excited about starting my new job on Tuesday.

How was September for you?

Any special plans for October?

You’ve certainly had a lot happening! Hope the next part of the move goes smoothly and you’re all settled very soon! I’m actually looking forward to Christmas too. None of that bah humbug stuff from me this year. Yep, bring on December!
