If we were having coffee 10 September 2016 #WeekendCoffeeShare

Good morning! It’s a beautiful Saturday morning here and Spring has certainly sprung. There have been some warmer days and the sun rises earlier and sets just that little bit later. It’s nice! I’d welcome you to my home and offer you a beverage of your choice. I for one, will be having coffee.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you it’s been a tough week and just a looooong one. I’ve been anxious for a lot of the week due to various reasons. One of it is of course, the impending move but the other has to do with finding a place, renting out mine, packing, moving and completing all that I need to at work. Plus this week, I didn’t exercise except for yoga on one night. And I also had a flat tyre one day and will have to go and replace it today. All in all, a tough week.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’ve had five days of the I Quit Sugar program. Week 1 has been about reducing sugar intake. I had two days of no sugars at all — not even fruit — and three days with a bit of fruit. I’m not craving sugar yet and the wonderful thing is, I’m not too hungry. All I need are my three meals and I’m fine. Which is awesome! Weeks two to four are going to be tough because it’s no sugar whatsoever. Let’s see how that goes in conjunction with my anxiety.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m currently reading Rising Strong by Brené Brown. It’s a great book to be reading at the current time given all that’s happening in life. I’m still trying to read and write when I can in spite of all the busyness. I’d tell you that my weekend is looking busy too with work from home, potential packing, cleaning, yoga, cooking and attending a birthday. And I’m hoping to get some sleep amid all that!

If we were having coffee, I’d apologise for being a boring twat this week. I’d stop talking and ask you about your week instead. I’m sure you’ve had a more interesting week. Do share some good news and some ups in your life! Have you got plans for the weekend?

Do share!

Moving is the most depressing and stressful thing – don’t understimate that. Even if you’re going to the best place ever, the actual process is a mood kill beyond comprehension…

Yeah I know…I haven’t done it for 7 years but have done it before and have always been surprised by how much stuff I have! Not looking forward to it at all but waiting for a month later when I’m hoping things settle. Just wish I could fast forward to that time!

Hope that things go smoothly for you and you get the strength. A good plan to reduce sugar to a minimum. I’d tell you that I am conscious that smoking is bad and need to work out a plan to cut out smoking by working on intervals.

Have a good weekend and loads of love.

I’m in a bit of a sugar rut at the moment. I’m usually fine with cutting it out, it just takes planning and not buying the desserts to fill the house with!

The sun rising earlier is both a blessing and a curse. I don’t want it to wake up my little ones – but I am thankful that their rooms have blockout blinds. Thanks for linking up with the Ultimate Rabbit Hole – guest host, Shari from GoodFoodWeek.

I’ve heard so much about Brene Brown, I really need to read one of her books. Is this a good one to start with? Good luck with your move! And the I quit sugar program! I admire that! I’m not sure I could do it!

You’re better off starting with Gifts of Imperfection and then Daring Greatly because she does refer to terms from the others. Watch her TED talk on the power of vulnerability. So good!

Have you decided on a place or area yet? Hope you find something soon. We are battling colds the chest infections this weekend and I feel pretty shitty. Currently waiting for the home doctor service…a great development but we’ve been waiting about 4 hours now but at least we’re at home. I didn’t have the energy to get to the doctor yesterday morning.
Last weekend was more exciting where we went on a history cruise up the Hawkesbury River. Loved it and have been doing some research on the Hawkesbury since then and want to find out about its Aboriginal history too.
Hope you have a good week.

Oh gosh, adding giving up sugar to the moving …yikes, I could not sad to say…anyway, if it is making a difference more power to you dear lady!! If I were having a coffee with you, I would be worrying about my IBS…sorry…I am still working on my levels of anxiety about that..I really miss having coffee out with a friend. I do hope that you keep on keeping on and that your goal of living and working on the coast is all a reality very soon. Thanks for taking the time to link up for the first week of my new link up Life This Week. I appreciate it!!

Gosh you did have a stressful week. Unfortunately sugar is my go to thing when I’m stressed so I admire your persistence. Hope this week is a lot better and the move proceeds smoothly.

I would have gone with a hot chocolate and would have told you not to worry about me but to keep concentrating on getting ready for the move both physically and mentally. Try to be kind to yourself – i just hope your noisy neighbours let you get some much needed sleep!

I’d be having tea, sorry, because I’m one of those awful people who love the smell of coffee but can’t handle the bitterness. I’d probably feel really bad for you for quitting sugar. Not because I think it’s a bad thing (it’s actually fantastic I hear) but because there’s no way in hell that I could survive without at least fruit. I would be a monster and I don’t know how you’re surviving.
However, if it makes you feel better, I’ve moved house about five times and am preparing for number six right now. I feel your pain.

I somehow forgot she had a book; I wanted to read that! It’s in my ‘to-read’ list now. I can’t wait until uni is over so I can read for fun again. This semester has knocked me about quite a bit. I almost want to pack in the towel but it’s so close to being over. (Plus if I quit now, I still have to pay!)
