If we were having coffee 30 July 2016 #WeekendCoffeeShare

If we were having coffee, I’d welcome you warmly after a good night’s sleep. I’d tell you how I slept for a little over 11 hours last night but it was much needed after averaging only 6 hours during the week. It’s a good time for you to come over for a cuppa as I’m in a better mood now that I’ve rested. Plus, it’s the weekend!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you it’s been a busy week. Work has been full-on and there have been things I’ve disliked that have had to do with my immediate superior. I have had a day when I didn’t have time to have lunch to days when things were asked of me at the last second. As an organised person, it’s stressful to have to deal with. On the plus side, I’ve made sure I exercised every single day to help manage this stress.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I do like some of the teachers I work with. They are fun and lovely people and I do enjoy having a drink with them at the end of the week. I’m hoping to extend the connections  by going on hikes with them and doing more than just work stuff.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m actively contemplating that sea-change after the weeks I’ve had. Keeping my fingers crossed that something good happens. Because goodness knows, I need a change.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I was hoping to go up the coast for a day trip today but after the week I’ve had, I just want to relax on the couch, write and watch Netflix. It’s a beautiful sunny day so I do feel guilty not going outdoors but there’s still time to change my mind. Speaking of Netflix, I’d tell you how I binge-watched the first season of How to get away with murder this week. I’m hooked and hoping they release the second season on there soon!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I finished Liane Moriarty’s latest book, Truly, madly, guilty in four days this week. She’s a brilliant writer and knows how to keep her readers hooked. I can’t wait to go see her speak on Monday.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask you what you were planning for the weekend. Would you be indoors or outdoors? I’d ask you for any Netflix recommendations and what books you’ve read.

Do share!

If we were having coffee (herbal tea for me!) I’d tell you I was so happy to hear you’d had a sleep in and feeling rested! I really really be encouraging you to look further into that sea change and help you negotiate some of the challenges you might be struggling with in making it happen!
I’d tell you my news…. That I’m nervous, anxious and excited about moving to South Korea next Friday! Yep you read that right! A bit over a week ago I accepted a position to teach English in South Korea and I’ve got less than a week before I leave! Crazy hey!
We’d have lots to chat about this week if we were having coffee!

I’ll def be Inside; staying with my mil at the nursing home. She has dementia and the nurses and aides simply don’t have time to watch her 24/7.
    So Sad.

There’s definitely nothing wrong with a day on the couch writing and watching Netflix! It’s my favorite way to recover when I’ve had a rough week! I never read anything by Liane Moriarty, but I almost picked up Truly, Madly, Guilty the other day. Looks like I need to go back and get it! Have a great week Sanch!

    Hi Sanch,
I’ve just started reading Liane Moriarty’s “Big Little Lies”. I am loving it! I wish I could just spend the day in bed with the electric blanket on and really get stuck into it. We’ve been out for my birthday yesterday going on a cruise around Brisbane Waters from Woy Woy into Gosford and then a bushwalk. It was so relaxing and very photogenic. Meanwhile, I’m writing and researching a short story set in Balmain… a piece of historic fiction for a local short story writing competition. It’s progressing well but due in under a week. Yikes!
Hope you have a great week!

Getti g the needed sleep is always a good thing. Sorry you don’t care for your superior. That can be a problem. Sounds like there are plusses in your work. Fix on them and tried forget the negative. Easily to say, but hard to do. Today I am upset with the chat that Internet keeps throwing at me. Good Luck whatever you decided to do.

We haven’t yet gotten Netflix. I have heard lots of people rave about it. We do have a program called “Kodi” on our laptop that we use to stream movies and shows to our tv. I just finished reading “The Girl in the Spiders Web” by David Lagercrantz. It is continuing the Lisbeth Salander series started by Stieg Larsson (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” etc). It was quite good. I have never heard of “Truly, Madly, Guilty” but I will have to check it out. Thanks for the coffee and I hope you have a less stressful week!

I love Liane Moriarty! She is a brilliant writer. I hope your week is less stressful. I have to say your job sounds much like mine. I am also very organized but I have people interrupting me all day and asking for things, often last minute. Fingers crossed for a change for you.
