The Month That Was

The month that was April 2016

Hello May! I hope you turn out to be a good month. To be fair, April wasn’t all that bad. I blogged a whole lot more in April than I did the previous couple of months. Also, April meant school holidays which for me meant slightly less stressful days at work. I also had a couple of days off work in April which was great!

In April, I read some more, slept some more and realised how unfit I was. I picked up my game though, in the middle of the month and got back to exercise. Even with a dodgy ankle, I’ve managed to continue to exercise and get into yoga.

I started hosting a new link up on Fridays with Write Tribe after being handed over the baton by two wonderful Aussie bloggers. If you are interested, you should keep an eye out for the prompts and join in. So far, I’ve reflected on things I’m loving and also on acts of kindness. I’ve also been enjoying sharing weekend conversations over coffee for the past two weeks.

Finally, mental health-wise, it’s not been a great month. I may not always disclose it on the blog but it’s been tough. I’m doing my best to stay afloat. I did realise partly, that comparison is what is making me worse at times. But also just generally, I’m not doing so great. I’m hoping there is a light at the end of this dreary tunnel.

I’m hoping for better mental health in May, more exercise and just general contentment in life. All of which seem to be lacking the last few months. But things can turn around, right?

I hope so!

How was April for you?

Do share!Β

Stay strong, Sanch. I know the tunnel seems dark but keep your friends- online/offline- close and that will go a long way towards helping in recovery. Glad you’re back to yoga and working out. Don’t worry too much about anything else at the moment. Love and hugs.

Lovely to find your blog! Sounds like you’re doing well during tough times. Like Natalie said, I really believe slow and steady wins the race, and tip toe steps lead to big things over time. Life these days just seems so totally overwhelming….. more, more, more. Self care is a big focus for me as I move into my 50s. I have to take time to sleep, eat well, do the things I love… or else my work and stress levels just run me down like a truck. Mindfulness and gratitude are my saving graces! I hope May is a beautiful month for you. πŸ™‚ Linda.

It sounds as if you are slowly making progress Sanch. Starting to get back into exercise and recognising that your mental health is slipping is a step in the right direction, I hope May continues to see you make progress in all areas x

Things will turn for good Sanch. Sometimes we don’t see but from the back end, things start to get better. With focus on health, yoga, a little less stress at work – you are inching towards better days. Stay strong as you are. We are all around.
My April was hectic. May, I need to get back to Yoga while continuing with writing and knowing that work is always on the heavier side.

April was busy for us – we had a house full of guests for 10 days! Our NZ friends came for a holiday, and to visit all the theme parks. I think I’ve just about recovered πŸ˜‰

Stay strong ….You’ll be fine..just take one step at a time..my April was full of travelling and days spent at mom’s..towards the end i was feeling a little low because of comparisons, yes…It’s strange because as child I would only be bothered about my own work..today I see people getting things easily, growing and I just have to keep working, trying without getting anything, any success in return..I’m still feeling quite low about it, you know..Hopefully, May will be better

We need a let’s be kinder to ourselves group and take it more slowly…That’s part of life I guess when we are busy and have high expectations of ourselves. Some gentle time out and permission to do so would be ideal. Take care. Denyse x
