Life

9 things I’m loving right now #FridayReflections

Even though I’ve been struggling with my mood, I have days and moments when things seem bright. In an attempt to focus on the things that are going well, here’s what I’m loving about life right now:

Exercise: I’m loving that I’ve been back at my gym since last week. I worked out 6 days last week and so far, have worked out every day this week too. It makes such a big difference!

Yoga: My gym has started a few yoga classes and I attended a couple last Thursday morning and this Thursday. It’s been awesome and oh-so-difficult!

Volunteering: I officially received my position description for being a Cat Foster Coordinator with Sydney Pet Rescue and Adoption. I’m so excited to actually start meeting the foster carers and their kitties and hopefully, promote them so these wonderful kitties get adopted.

School holidays: Even though I’ve had to work through school holidays {at a school}, it’s been good because there haven’t been any students. It’s meant I have managed to catch up on paperwork and also plan for groups and programs.

Positive psychology: I have really gotten into positive psychology since starting this job. It’s a nice approach using strengths and I have big plans around programs and whole-school approaches. More importantly, I’m hoping it will help me with my own stuff. Oh and I got carried away and found there’s a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Melbourne. 2017, maybe?

Kindness: I started getting sick of all the negativity around me and while reading up on positive psychology as well as dealing with some presenting problems at school, I’ve been thinking of kindness programs and promoting kindness. In the mean time, just for myself though, I have also been noticing when people are kind and make the effort to engage in random acts of kindness myself.

Blogging for work: I wrote my first blog post for the school wellbeing page. It was exciting! And it was about kindness and its impact on wellbeing.

My new blog: I am enjoying my new blog on writing. I’m still tidying up a lot of the old posts but have also been writing new ones. So far I’ve dabbled only in poetry and creative nonfiction but I’m hoping to get some ideas for fiction.

Pebbles and Buttons: I love these two. They bring so much joy into my life. They keep me amused and make me feel loved. Did you know they have their own Instagram page? You should totally follow them!

So that’s it…9 things I’m loving about life right now.

How about you? What are you loving about life right now?

Do share!!!

If you are new to Friday Reflections, here’s what it’s about. It’s the end of the week, you’re probably exhausted with work, and all you want to do is sit back, put your feet up, sip on some fancy cocktail or wine, and write away.

Write Tribe and yours truly give you writing prompts and all you have to do is choose any one of those prompts to blog about and link up between Friday and Monday. After you link up, be sure to spread the love by visiting other bloggers who have linked up too.

Feel free to add our Friday Reflections badge to your post or sidebar! Follow us on Twitter @FridayReflect and join our Facebook Group. Share your post on social media with the hashtag #FridayReflections.

Prompts for this week

1. If you could do something that you have never done before, what would it be? Why do you want to do it?
2. Write the words you need to hear.
3. Write a list of your top 11 travel tips.
4. Try your hand at writing a piece of fiction.
5. What do you love about life right now?

Our featured writer from among those who responded to the prompts last Friday is Nabanita Dhar whose post had us Bewitched! ?

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Glad that you got back to the gym.

Yoga does seem difficult at first but once you get a hang of it, it is enjoyable

Six times at the gym! Go you! I’m loving the cooler weather, it’s much more run-friendly. I’m loving happy mail – there’s nothing better than going to the mailbox and finding something full of happy in there. I’m loving my slow cooker and cooking lots of delicious dinners that don’t require stove slaving or much money! Win, win! And lastly, I’m enjoying my new book, Penguin Bloom. It’s beautiful and inspiring, with beautiful words and pictures. Oh and congrats on the new blog too, how do you fit it all in?!

I’m loving that it’s Fri-yay! I’m loving the beautiful autumn weather (but not so much our ducted heating which is broken and waiting for a repair piece). I’m loving reading Big Magic and hope to get through a few pages this long weekend. I love yoga too but have been having trouble making it to the mat lately, although I feel so much better when I do get to fit it into my day.

I love and am so appreciative of the long weekend coming up. I was sick this week & I’m behind on uni work so it will be nice to have some catch up time.

Sanch – you’re loving very similar things about life at the moment as I am! I’m doing my sunrise walks every morning and I’ve joined a gym as well. I’ve lost nearly 10kgs. I’m feeling good. I also like to promote kindness – on the blog and quite a bit on Instagram. There is never enough kindness in this world! I will have to go check out your new blog. Good on your for your volunteer work too. I’m thinking I should look at doing some too – just need to work out what would be the best fit for me. Have a great weekend! 🙂 xo

I love your nine things Sanch and I could learn from a lot of them. I know exercise will help me wallow less (and help with my weight) so I really need to adopt that one.

The school blog sounds great and your own new blog sounds really exciting!

Working out whether at a gym or in a yoga class lets off the steam and works positively on the mind too. Blogging and writing are yet another aspects. Applied Positive Psychology sounds likes an interesting course. Glad that you are feeling great, Sanch, with all these lovely events happening in your life. All this struggle with the mood is temporary.

    What a lovely list!
Great reasons to enjoy life indeed.
I’m finally consistent about doing yoga on a regular basis and I’m loving it too.

All the best for your new blog Sanch. Excercise and Yoga are great ways to feel good. I want try yoga, but i think, I have to find out an official teacher instead of attempting from youtube videos.
