The Month That Was

The month that was February 2016

February on the blog has mainly been about books. February in my life, has mainly been about books and work. I did have a couple of fun things towards the end of the month but haven’t had time to blog about them! Yes, I’ve been that busy with work. I’ve been bringing work home on the weekends — something I vowed to stop doing after 2012.

I read a few books though this month thanks to travelling by public transport. There was Hades by Candice Fox — the first of a really intriguing trilogy. Then there was The Hypnotist’s love story by my favourite Liane Moriarty. Another good read was Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda. A highly memorable and beautiful read was The Guest Cat. I also finished  The Lives of  Others by Neel Mukherjee but didn’t enjoy it so I didn’t bother reviewing it. I have also finished the second book of Fox’s trilogy and another book but those reviews will come next month.

In February, Pebbles made her blogging debut by introducing herself all thanks to Ashleigh’s new venture. Speaking of Ashleigh, I have a post coming up about us finally meeting last week in real life! Finally, in February, I also talked about how I currently dislike my body and the struggles I’m facing with it.

It’s been a relatively quiet month on the blog but completely different in my day-to-day life. I am tired of bringing work home but I suppose until I get the hang of the new job, it is inevitable. I enjoyed attending a school camp but it was exhausting! I am also still struggling with a proper routine. I haven’t been able to work out as much as I’d like and am contemplating joining a different gym just so I can go earlier. So while I struggle with all this, my writing takes a backseat. Hopefully, it will pick up soon.

How was February for you?

I hope your workload lessens soon, or, you might risk suffering from burnout. At least, you had a chance to do some reading. My February sucked. I was sick all month but am much better now. Here’s to a better March!

It’s so hard with a new job and getting that work/life balance right, isn’t it? I’m sure things will level out soon, and on the flip side, what you lacked in working out, you more than made up for in reading! Go you! I think I read three chapters the whole month! My February was fast but fabulous. I would love an action replay!

February was less clear for me than I had hoped. I think I’m just being impatient (I’m good at that) at finding my feet in a few areas. And frankly, wondering if writing down goals has made me think things are harder than they really are.

Hope you start getting time for yourself. Work outs and writing. I get what you are saying. New job needs a bit of more time to settle down. I also had a crazy February. Lot of work but I could write. 🙂
    Happy March to you!

I had a quiet blogging month in February too, but that just feels like how my life is now. Quiet in terms of blogging.
I think any month where you can read that many books is a great one though. I’m a little envious of that 🙂

Hope your workload decreases. I did more blogging on my photo blog and completely neglected my poetry blog. Will have to change that in March.

Reading on public transport is my favourite thing about going to work. It looks like you read some good books too. I have Hades on my “to read” list.

Oh fabulous. I haven’t read any of those books, I’ll add them to my list. I’m currently reading ‘The Dressmaker’. Only a few pages in but I’m loving it already.

I wish I could say February was full of books for me. I haven’t done nearly enough reading lately.

Wow ! Looks like you have had a busy month reading. 4 books in a month ! Amazing. I was really looking forward to the challenge & thanks to the sudden trip that got dropped on us, I backed out since my travel plans weren’t crystal clear.

Good luck on the new job. Hope things ease out soon there.

Reading books these many.. It’s a dream for me as of now.. I’m planning to do it in March I suppose. Bringing work to home sometimes really suck, but then it’s important for it to be completed.. My February was good, with friends and lots of things on the plate.. have shared it on my blog 🙂

    Cheers
