The Month That Was

The month that was January 2016

I almost forgot that it was the beginning of a brand new month. January always seems to whizz into nothingness and before you know it, February is here. This year, January seemed busier than usual.

I started January by making goals for 2016 and choosing a word for the year. I spent four days of the new year being a tad overwhelmed as I tried to wrap up everything at my workplace or five years. After saying a bitter-sweet goodbye, I headed for a solo beach holiday for five days. I needed the break between old and new.

Before starting my new job, I also celebrated my 32nd birthday. The new job has been good but I’ve been bloody busy! Consequently, in the last week or so, blogging has taken a back seat.

January was my month for reading. I read 8 books in January and reviewed some of those. Of course, it helped having those holidays! Since the break, reading has been a bit slow but consistent.

For February, I’m excited about starting the 12WBT challenge. I’ve prepared my lunches for the week and my dinners till Thursday. I have my exercise plan ready and by the time this post is up, should be going hard at it! I have increased not just in weight, but also centimetres. So it’s back to monitoring and watching how I go. Apart from that, Feb is going to be about work, work and more work.

How was January for you? Does your 2016 truly begin now?

Do share!

Certainly seemed busy for you and the month seemed to fly by in general! I know we seem to say it every year and every month but I really can’t believe it is February already! Hope you are settling in to your new job/role well!

January was a month of ‘getting started’ and ‘getting used to a new way of life’ and I am welcoming February for some stability. I am not so good with too much change or new. Best of luck with all of your ventures!

January kept me on my toes and it seems fitting that school goes back today, on the first of February. My youngest starts kindy also tomorrow, it is the start of a new and different year for all of us. One that will see me with a whole heap of spare time to do some of those things I’ve always just squeezed in when I could. I know my house will be in a lot more order now I have time to clean it properly!

Can I please ask how you managed to fit in 8 books? I’m really really really trying hard to fit in more reading, but I just can’t seem to get around it!

What a month for you Sanch. I feel like the year is just beginning now that the kids are at school – I now at least have the chance to get stuck into my plans for the year.

5 day beach holiday sounds perfect. I want to fill a suitcase with books and go do that right now.

I haven’t done a lot of reading, but I have done a lot of eating in January so am trying to get into healthier habits in February. I’m keen to know how you get on with the 12 WBT Challenge, I’ve heard such good things about it. Hope the new job is going great – the first few weeks are always the hardest 🙂
