Dear Santa: The 2015 edition

Dear Santa,

It’s 10 days to Christmas. Seeing as I’ve lost my writing mojo this past month, I figured one way to break it was to write you a letter. I am looking forward to Christmas, Santa. Not for all the festivities but for a break. Sure, I’ll be working for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year’s but I reckon having those public holidays is just awesome.

This year for Christmas, I don’t want to ask for too much.

Firstly, if you could gift Mr Imperfect a new job either before the end of the year or else in early January, it’d be much appreciated. The non-renewal of his contract came at the worst possible time Santa. What with me handing in my resignation and about to start a new job in the new year and well, with the holiday season, things kinda suck. So yeah, a new job for Mr Imperfect would be awesome! And while you’re at that, if you could help him with setting up his petsitting business, it would be much appreciated.

Secondly, I’d love to get some non-toxic time over Christmas and new year. By that, I’m referring to the negativity at my current work place. Ideally, I’d love to have finished before the end of the year so that I could start the new year with a fresh frame of mind. Unfortunately, with three reports and seven discharges, I have to work the first few days of 2016 too. If I could have less toxicity at work in that time, I’d be ever so grateful.

Next I’d like some down time over Christmas and between jobs. I really, really, really need to de-stress and calm my mind. I have been way too anxious and moody. I still haven’t decided whether I need to get away in January before starting the new job or whether I should just stay at home, tidy up and hit the beach every day. Either way, a zen state would be great.

Number four on my list would be to be able to write again. Ever since I finished my uni course, I kinda lost my mojo to write. I have ideas. Lots and lots of them. But with the stress at home and work, I have lost the will and the art to put them onto paper or a screen. I really want to try my hand at freelance writing next year Santa and I would be grateful if you could give me back my writing mojo.

Finally, I would like to have a smooth start to my new job in 2016 and hope it helps me develop as a psychologist but also gives me a better work environment that I really need. I want my new job to be interesting and challenging while at the same time not too draining. Oh, and I do hope I work with some nice people and an environment that’s not toxic. Goodness knows I need a break!

If among all the above gifts, you still have room for more, I would never say no to a whole lot of books. Because as you know, I can never have enough books!

Thanks in advance Santa if you do deliver these gifts.

I wonder what my readers would ask you this Christmas.Ā

Until next year,

SANCH_sig1

I would really really love it if Santa could get me the job I’ve applied for.. I have an interview in mid January and if he could just arrange for me to get that job then I would be forever grateful!!! If not, then somewhere else I can stay rent free until I find a new job would be awesome!!

On a serious note… Good luck with everything you have going on in early 2016 and I hope you find your mojo!

I’m asking Santa that my new job goes well in the new year too. And that I somehow learn to relax over the Christmas New Years break…I’m not good at relaxing.

They sound like nice things. Do you mediate Sanch? It has really helped me.
I would like a year without health problems for me and my hubby. That is all really. I hope Santa brings you your wishes. Don’t be too hard on yourself with the writing, I went through an off phase. It will come back.

It’s the time of year for mojos to go missing – there’s just too much on. I’m wanting to write on the hols – but I’ll go longhand in a note book to avoid internet time wasting…

Hope everything on your list comes your way Sanch. I was just re-reading some of my old posts, and my Christmas wishlist at the end of 2012, and guess what, everything I wished for happened! Maybe not quite when *I* thought it should LOL, but 3 years later I am grateful that life has moved on.

My wishlist definitely includes lots of books too šŸ™‚ .

I’m going to be selfish and – having blogged about how much everything else meant to me – say I would actually like some presents. I need a new phone, TV, vacuum cleaner, and computer, which are extravagant, but failing that some perfume, some jewellery, a voucher for a pedicure and manicure, would be so lovely. And all the best with everything. I hear you on the work and writing mojo thing. I also wish for more time and energy.
