The Month That Was

The month that was October 2015

October was an interesting month. I had a feeling it would go by quickly as I was nearing the end of uni. To be honest, I was hoping it would fly by because it means being closer to the end of the year and hopefully, some down time.

In October, I started off with positive fitness results from my 12 week challenge and looked at some new goals as well as deciding to be kinder to myself. I also went on a weekend away with two friends and Mr Imperfect. I reminisced about my favourite books as a child while also managing to read a few books now. One of my favourites which I couldn’t resist reviewing was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. By the way, I later found out while listening to an interview with Moriarty that she does not plot her books. She’s a pantser and I find that incredible given the amazing structure of her novels!

I still continued to have moments I struggled with trying to find my way in life and also realising just how busy my mind is. In spite of clearly showing I am a crazy cat owner, I forgot my little Buttons’ birthday. He turned four. I had some fun with deciding who would be on my guest list for dinner and talking about my favourite and least favourite exercises. I loved reflecting back on each week and picking 10 things that made me happy.

Finally, I signed off October by pledging to participate in NaNoWriMo. You know, because I finished uni and now apparently have more time to write. It was a decent month with lots of time at the beach {I’ve got a great tan!} even though I had moments of sheer panic and meltdowns.

Here’s looking forward to November. There’s lots of writing and other things in store for this month as we near the end of the year.

How was October for you?

Good luck with NaNoWriMo. My husband has also signed up for it this year. Meanwhile I’m unofficially playing along in my bid to finish off my first ebook. Let’s all hope the mojo, inspiration and opportunity to write is plentiful for all of us!

You had a good month! The best thing about reflecting the month gone by is the way we look at positives and how things were well. So important to keep going in life 🙂

Im unofficially participating in NaNoWriMo! All the best with that. I only started today, but even if I dont meet the goal, just starting something is a huge step, isn’t it?

I agree Natalie…I’m already slacking far behind in a week but I’m not giving up. I’m going to write whatever I can I suppose. Good luck with yours! 🙂
