Embarrassing songs on my iPod

This is Kirsty‘s last week holidaying in the U.S. and I’ve been given the opportunity to host ‘I must confess‘ this week. We are talking about deep, dark secrets today and disclosing the embarrassing songs/artists we have on our iPods {or CD shelves}. You know, those songs that you wouldn’t dare to play when you have people over or in the car with you but that you don’t really mind.

Here are some of mine:

ABBA: I grew up with ABBA thanks to my parents. Funnily enough, I still like a lot of their music. About eight years ago, I bought their greatest hits double album CD. And yes, I transferred it to my iPod. I must confess I still enjoy Mamma Mia and The Winner Takes it all and Thank you for the music.

Shannon Noll: I heard Shannon Noll’s second album Lift during my first year in Australia. And I really liked it. Back then. Sadly, I still have the CD and occasionally hum to the lyrics of Shine and a few other songs on the album.

Boyzone: Remember them? Well, here in Australia we have kind of adopted Ronan Keating so I’m guessing most people still remember he was originally part of a boyband with their cheesy moves. While I liked Backstreet boys back then, Boyzone was my favourite. And I still have two of their albums on my iPod. I feel a sense of guilty pleasure which takes me back to my teenage days when I sing along to When the going gets tough or I love the way you love me and even You needed me.

My tastes in music have changed dramatically since my teens and early twenties. I do like a lot more rock and alternative songs these days. But a little cheesy reminiscing never hurt anyone, did it?
So what about you?

What embarrassing songs can you confess to?

Do share!

I Must Confess

Until next time,

I think everyone in the world still likes ABBA – every woman that is, except me. I can’t stand them – didn’t like them then, don’t now but every party, as it starts to get ugly, someone gets it out and everyone dances and sings….ugh!
(Except Rock Me. I liked that one as a kid…)

Love this prompt. Oddly I’m someone that has a weekly theme song and a stack of embarrassing songs on CD because I don’t actually own an iPod but I’m actually off topic this week.

Oh there are too many to name! But I used to be an avid collector of those ‘Hot Hits’ tapes (showing age here) and CD’s. Loved the pop!

I have too many such songs. I was/am a huge BSB and Westside fan. I love Boyzone too.

Hehe.. I have songs from this really crazy band by the name “Neon Trees”. If you ever get the time, download this song – Everybody Talks. And you’ll understand why I call the band crazy!
Yeah! I confess that I still have one BSB song on my player – As Long As You Love Me! *_*

I don’t have an ipod or anything to listen to music on really, otherwise I’m sure there’d be some really embarrassing stuff on there! I know I found a bunch of old cd’s once and there was Aqua, 5ive, the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack – enough said really.

I have always hated Abba. Haven’t listened to any Shannon Noll songs… Boyzone is probably ok out of the three. If you had BSB, yeah that would be embarrassing, but Boyzone wasn’t that bad, IMO. With that said, I think I have BSB’s Incomplete on my playlist… o.O 😛

Well, I love Hindi songs but there are a couple from this movie (an old one – classic) and the songs there are in that typical HIndi spoken in UP – I secretly listen to them while I am on a walk – no one knows I do that – so I am not gonna name the movie 😉
    Fun post S!
