The Month That Was

The Month that was November 2014

tmtw11nov

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was reflecting on the month that was October. November seems to have gone by in a flash. This, in spite of the fact that I blogged every single day in November in addition to have a reasonably busy life.

November started off quite well with me reflecting on why I write as well as looking at some jobs I would never do. I also let you guys know about me getting published in a magazine in October. I got to reflect on some of my proudest moments in 30 years and how people tend to judge me sometimes based on what I present like. Given that I am done with uni for this semester, I was able to get back into reading for pleasure and read Jodi Picoult’s latest offering. I was stoked when one of my entries for Yeah Write got picked as one of top three editor’s picks. I ran a give away on my blog {which is still open!} and asked you to share your least favourite chore. November was also when we observed White Ribbon Day to try and spread awareness to end violence against women. Finally, one of the biggest highlights was announcing that I got engaged. I was overwhelmed by your beautiful comments and wishes on that post.

But sadly, the end of the month took a down turn. Phillip Hughes, an Aussie cricketer with a promising future, passed away in shocking circumstances leaving the rest of us to grieve in a way we have probably not done as a nation in a while. In an unrelated situation, I also heard of someone ending their life by jumping in front of a train which triggered a sadness in me. I ended November with a bad cold and seem to have started December in a similar fashion having to take the day off work today.

I am done with the working year and cannot wait for the holidays. I am counting down to Christmas because it is the start of a much needed three week holiday for me. The first half of December is going to be filled with Christmas celebrations with work and all the different groups of friends. On Boxing Day, I head off down to Tasmania to hike The Overland Track with a group of 7 friends. I am excited about that! JK will be meeting us after the hike along with some of his mates. Mind you, this is going to be the longest we’ve not seen each other. And then I road trip my way back to Sydney stopping at different places with two of my mates and G.

I am looking forward to an incredibly busy December to start with but then, an exciting adventure to end 2014 and ring in 2015.

With that, can I just say again: can you believe how time has flown?!

How was your November?

What does December look like for you?

Do share!

Congratulations on being published in a Mag! I cannot imagine!! November was the month I launched my new blog. Now in December I crave a holiday!! I need a break from computers, social media, the lot! Yep – just lazing about with a book and spending time at the beach is in order for me. Lucky I have 5 nights booked for mid December 🙂

Congratulations on your engagement! That is wonderful news!
S0 much sadness going on at the moment. I think it hits harder because it is so close to christmas too. There was a fatal car accident locally today, so devastating for the families involved.
I cannot believe how fast the last half of the year has whizzed by. I guess you just have to hang on tight for the ride! Your adventures sound awesome to round out the year xx

It is almost horrifying how the months keep passing. Im excited that it is December though. We are doing a minimalist christmas for the first time. It makes me so happy to put my values into practice.
